This Ebay purchase is my most unbelievable purchases anywhere in my entire life. I leave no comments, only the correspondance between seller and buyer. As of now, I paid for this stereo June 14th, 2006, but have no stereo to show for it. Decide for yourself if this is rediculous service. Here is the history: June 16, 2006 Purchased Sony Xplod CDX-GT100 in-dash “factory sealed” car stereo from “STEREOINSTALLPARTS”[.com] from EBAY as a “buy it now”. The cost was $58.99 with $34.99 in shipping for a total of $93.98. Payment was through Paypal. June 22,2006 On or about June 22, I received the stereo. It was in good condition but it was not “factory sealed” as advertised. I was not overly concerned about this as I have experienced this before on Ebay but have had no issues with “non-performance” of the merchandise. June 24, 2006 I spent a good deal of the day trying to install the stereo. I noticed that the stereo was giving me and error signal with the CD that I was testing so I tried another with the same result. I decided it would be best to send the unit back to the supplier. I sent an email to StereoInstallParts concerning the matter. June 26th, 2006 Since there was no reply to my email and to protect myself, I entered a dispute in Paypal with the understanding that it would take 40 days or so to resolve and I did not want to just rely on StereoInstallParts to resolve. My dispute was worded as ” Received stereo that was described as new, sealed unit, but found that the product had been openned. Also, tried to install the unit and there appears to be problems with the unit - defective. Sent an email describing this that was not replied to. Chuck” June 30th, 2006 Seller respnse to Paypal dispute. “please send the item back and we will send out a replacement.” No RA number or address was provided. July 1st, 2006 My response on Paypal dispute center: “I think I need an RA number.” Which I never received a response from Seller. July 7, 2006 Again on Paylpal dispute center from me to Seller. “Can you send an RA number for the return?” 7/16/2006 “This Dispute has timed out.” Unfortunately, I am unable to open another dispute on this item through PayPal as it will not allow this to take place – when you try this, the system indicates “there is already a dispute on this item, you cannot open another”. Of course, there is no way to respond to this on the PayPal site. 7/26/2006 I sent an email to Seller: “I openned a dispute about this item and was told to return the item. I have not received anything back please contact me and let me know when I will get my replacement stereo.” 7/28/2006 I once again sent a email: “How come I never get any response from you !!!! Come on I sent a stereo back and get screwed by not getting anything in return what is going on !!!!!!!!!!!! “ Highly ****ed off Chuck" 7/28/2006 Seller response: “We are currently processing your claim.” And a second email from seller on same day “I apologize for the delay; we are currently processing your claim” 8/1/2006 Seller Email "To Whom It May Concern: We received the radio, as discussed in the PayPal dispute. Our installers checked it, and the radio is working perfectly fine. Please let us know what you would like to do about this situation. Thank you very much for your support, and please let us know if you have any further questions." 8/1/2006 My response to sellers email ”If it is working fine then you would have no problem replacing it with a new one as advertised?” 8/2/2006 I send a follow-up email to seller: “Please tell me where we stand on this item.” 8/3/2006 Seller email response: “If you could please explain the problem, we would gladly like to help and remedy the situation.” Another note also states: “ 8/5/2006 Response from seller to my 8/1/2006 email “I will talk to our supervisor about your situation and let you know as soon as I can.” Another message indicates “ 8/5/2006 Feeling like this was a losing situation, I remiss and reply “Just send it back to me. It is not worth what you are putting me through” 8/5/2006 Seller reponse “We will be sending it out as soon as we can.” 8/14/2006 Due to no stereo received or email notifications I email “How long is this going to continue? Please respond, please send my item.” 8/15/2006 Seller response “Here is the tracking number we have with UPS: 1ZV94061035355xxx” [omitted last digits for privacy] 8/17/2006 Using UPS tracking, I see that the package has not shipped so I email “Just curious why this package has not been shipped yet?” 8/18/2006 Seller reponse “UPS may not have updated their site, as not all items are scanned onto the delivery truck.” 8/22/2006 My email “UPS still not showing this package shipped and I have not received - you guys are extremely frustrating - I bought this is JUNE !!!!” 8/23/2006 Seller response “I apologize sir, I will double check with our shipping department.” 8/24/2006 My email “Jesus Christ - are you ever going to ship me my "used" stereo? Still not received, not - same usual bull**** from you guys I'll be making a website this weekend called steroinstallpartsSUCKS.com I will not need to expess my opinions, just show the facts of the empty promises and horrible service.” 8/25/2006 Seller response “I apologize for the delay sir, however, the stereo you returned was placed back into inventory and has been sold. We are waiting on another to come in and will ship immediately upon receipt. Again, my apologies. I know this has been a huge inconvenience.”
wow so when that other person gets the new stereo he's gonna see it's not factory sealed and they'll have to go through this again.
I finally gave up on this purchase. Ebay has a 90 day policy regarding items not recieved. If you don't submit a claim before 90 days is up, you lose completely. I am closing the books on this with Ebay, I will only be compensated $33 for this purchase by Ebay. StereoInstallParts.com keeps my money.
November 7th - Finally get $33.99 rebate from FleaBay. Original purchase price $93.98 on June 16th. November 17, I get a token amount back. I stand a humbled FleaBay x-customer.
Chalk it up as a lesson learned in life and go on............. Of course if you ever happen to meet the SOB in person, a right hook would not be out of line! To hell with ebay and its corrupted paypal BS......Efvery purchase i have made by way of ebay has been through emails and private info, phone calls, etc......keep ebay out of the picture....deal with the private individual is usually best, at least in my experiences., And that includes a car we bought, which btw we got for a song for what it is!!!
Just be happy you got some kind of money back. I really dislike Paypal and the way they work. I got screwed over from a buyer of mine and they were rewarded with a "full" refund, yet they only mailed me back half of what I sent them in the first place.
ebay can be good sometimes but theres gettin to be many scammers on there as well and especially when paypal screws you over as well....damn fleabay
