I have a Mono amp. 550 at 4 ohm and 900 at 2 ohm ... I got 2, 4 ohm subs. I need to wire at 2 ohms but on the amp there is 2 sets of positive and negitive ports. Do i just put each set of wires at their own port or do i put both positives in 1 positive and both negative in the negitive ?

Ahh...those sets are like you said only "positive" and "negative"...NO right or left channels

Those are only there for ease of wiring...

Busted, wired each subs + to the + on the amp and likwise for the neg's

Internally these terminals are paralleled...so you can either use one set for both or use both...doesn't matter as long as the subs are paralleled

    So......

If you have a mono amp with only a one + and one - going to 2 subs would you have positive to positive and negetive to negitive.

    Amp Kicker 400.1
    Kicker CVR 10's at 2ohms?

CompVR subwoofers are available with dual 2 Ω(ohm) or dual
4 Ωvoice coils. Both coils must be connected to a source of
    amplification.
The dual 2 Ωwoofer will generate a 1 Ωload if the coils are
wired in parallel or a 4 Ωload in series. The dual 4 Ωwoofer will
provide a 2 Ωload wired in parallel or 8 Ωload wired in series.
The terminals with solid red and black markings are for one
voice coil. The terminals with the white dots are for the second
    voice coil.

It is a 2 ohm stable mono amp, therefore, with each of the 4 voice coils being 2 ohms each, you will need to series each speakers voice coil makin each sub essentially an 4 ohm speaker, then parallel the 2 subs together, this will yield a 2 ohm load to the amp, which is exactly what you want to do...........

OK i'll take a stabe at this -

    Four terminals on sub
    Red
    Red/White
    Black
    Black/White

Connect Red and Black/White to negetive and positve leads respectivley
    Connect Red/White and Black together

    Do this on each sub

then connect the positvive on each sub together
then connect the negetive on each sub together

    Then go to the amp?

    Maybe?

    Thanks Rodny nice page.

How does it work when you have dual voice coils though - or does it?
