http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=16388 I found these subs and since their cheap i wanna buy 3 of um. I have never even heard hifonics subs before, was wonderin if anyone knows how these will sound. And no i dont have an amp. Also if anyone knows a amp that will work great for these let me know.
Um...yeah those sub CAN sound good if in the correct ENCLOSURE. But lets start with... How much money do you want to spend?? What kind of bass are you wanting?? What vehicle is this going into?? Can you build your own enclosure?? Are you new to car audio?? When you whipe your ass do you wad or fold??lol The old adage "You get what you pay for" comes to mind...also Hifonics isn't really known for their subwoofers...mainly for their amps that are built like tanks.
you want 3 of them????? Why not 2 or 4 of them????? (impedance issues with the amp) But Hifonics has been around for about 15-20 years. they have always made a decent amp....speaker wise, dont know, but hey, i would give them a shot!!! Put them in the RIGHT box and I am sure they will perform very well.
How much money do you want to spend?? im hopeing to spend like $250 on any number of subs and less than 200 for an amp What kind of bass are you wanting?? hard, loud, no distortion, sounds clear What vehicle is this going into?? Temporarily a 91 nissan kingcab pickuo Can you build your own enclosure?? i got a friend that can make it, but i might just go ahead and buy a good 1 Are you new to car audio?? Im only familiar with a few kinds of subs, im kinda wanting to explore and find some i really like When you whipe your ass do you wad or fold??lol i fold
LOL!!!!! ( the TP thing) Dont rush into this too fast!!!! there are lots of quality speakers out on the market. Being a king cab, And if you dont mind losing the back seat area, i say you need to go with the largest speakers that you can afford and PROPERLY fit into it, this means go with maybe two 12 inchers, or even two 15 inchers. The larger the speaker, the more the surface area, which basically translates into great output, especially at the lower frequencies. And this greater output at lower frequencies is what you need in a small cab. You want it LOUD and CLEAR, so you want to move ALOT of air as easily as possible. you dont have a huge budget, so i would look for subs that have a high sensitivity or efficency over power handling and Xmax. Put them into a PROPERLY built vented box, and run them with as much power as you can afford.....lets face it, you want it loud, so these are a few things to look for. the hifonics may do you well, but there are LOTS of others out there to look at. Try listening to some you are interested in, But bottom line, with a limited budget, you need to get a proper box (not prefab) with some good subs that meet the criteria i mentioned.
Less than 200 for an amp...thats gonna be hard but I have the perfect amps for you that will push some decent power...close to rated Kenwood 9102D http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=14933 Or Kenwood 9152D http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=14934 Both are good amps...either one depends on what impedance woofers you buy for 250 for subs...uhh...maybe a couple of these... http://www.audio-warehouse.com/web/mdl/PCW-15/detail.asp Or these http://www.audio-warehouse.com/web/mdl/03CVR15-2/detail.asp I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND the old school CVR's though...my best friend used to have a couple of them on only 200 watts each and they pounded harder and cleaner than my farting after eating a totino's pizza...I'm actually going to buy on myself because I am in love with them. Holy crap...I didn't even know they still had em...sorry but I've wanted one for a long time...they have a very high sensitivity rating also...perfect for what you want...and either of those amps will power these no sweat...you wont need to fully push these if in the correct vente enclosure.
Ah yes, the wonders of discplacement limited power handling!!! i can make a sub rated at 1000 watts thermally blow due to mechanical failure in no time flat when driven with 100 watts!!! but dammit, it will rip your face off doing it!!!!
SOUND STREAMS!!!!! hell ya!!!! You wont go wrong with those!! nice price, one 15 incher in the right box, a few hundred watts of power........kick some ass!!!!!! I love lower powered systems and making them stomp some serious spl ass!!!!!!!!!
Yes...I also love lower powered systems...my one 15 JL hits as hard on 400 watts as my friends two Alpine Type X's on 2000 watts...He also has an extra Stinger battery and a couple caps (lol...shop told him he needed it and he didn't know). Kickass
ive found Hifonics to be one of the best but they are expensive, and dang man it seems like there is a questions that asks what is the best every single day!!!it gets annoying
yes it can........but thats why we are here. FOR WE ARE THE .................CAR AUDIO GUYS!!!(cheezy drums in the background)
