Does anybody else make a good 18" sub that would leave some money for an amp?

If there aren't any, what are some good brands for 15's?

Would it be bad if I had 2 subs...and 2 amps? 1 amp running to each sub?

I'm curious, what does everyone have against audiobahn?

    Low quality

    Sh!t breaks

    EVERYTHING IS OVERRATED

How many CEA Compliant amps from audiobahn have you seen??? Exactly

Emphasis on cool looking flames rather than sound quality speakers and amps

For the price you pay for the half decent stuff that is hundreds of dollars you can get something else that sounds a crapload better

    I'll never buy it.

I tried to get a kicker 1500.1 amp and two 06' S15L5's from the insurance guy but he wasn't down for it.

    Right now I'm considering...

    1. kicker 750.1 amp and two CVR12's ($426 total)
    2. kicker 1000.1 amp and two CVR15's ($578 total)
    3. kicker 1500.1 amp and two CVR15's (Will I blow the subs?) ($730 total)

The insurance guy said I can go on etronics.com, onlinecarstereo.com, and the usual big sites like circuitcity.com, bestbuy.com, and crutchfield.com. He said those sites are what I can use to get my $720 worth in equiptment.

The 1500 won't blow d subs as long is d amp is tune right!
the 750 will do better because it will pull less current then d others unless you have a big ALT.

The bigger the amp the more current is going to pull

    I'm thinking either

    2. kicker 1000.1 amp and two CVR15's ($578 total)
    3. kicker 1500.1 amp and two CVR15's ($730 total)

but I get the feeling the insurance guy is going to give me more grief about the 1500.1, so I'll probably end up going with option 2. Is the 1000.1 going to make my headlights flicker or anything? I've got a 99 Mercury Grand Marquis with a 4.6L V8 if that has anything to do with the alternators size.

The 1000 probably suck about 100 to 150 amp of current, that's if you have 14 volts at the amp! you need a good batt and 2 or 1/o gauge wire.
your fact ALT its about 100 amps
I talked 2 the guys at Kicker and they recommend running a ground whit your positive.

This is what I do on my installs. I run the ground wire from the batt to the back at the back I drill a hole and put a bolt to ground the wire to the body and from there to the amp (cap, batt, dist block etc...) don't forget to do all your grounds under the hood (Batt to chassis, batt to fender, batt to motor)

When I bought my car they replaced the alternator, does it say on the alternator what amp it is?
