It never hurts to be a little stuck on yourself. Aw Heck, I think that I'm one of the best installers I ever met. :lol: I used to know an installer, (he honestly believed he was better than me) that refered to himself as Jesus. I'm still better, but I refuse to compare myself to the Lord But I'm still the best installer and the oldest installer I know:lol:
I am pushing the edge of, gulp, 40.........and I am the best installer!!!!! Well, at least in my mind! Its crazy, I went through many youngans, trained, tought, molded, teached them what they need to know. But they always wanted to know how to do the "cool" stuff....The things that only time and experience can manage to create and instill in ones arsenal of knowledge and skill........ When they didnt want to listen or learn the basics first......i said to hell with them and let them find thier own way through it, which most all didnt..... Crap, now I am reminescing!!!!!!! It takes literally years to aquire the skills to do killer installs such as what rodny and some of us others can muster up with a batch of bondo, fibreglasse and wood, among other things...Sure lots of folks can do the same things with almost no experience, but to do it at a level that surpasses factory looks, or makes a vehicle truely KICK ASS due to its level of detail and thought process is beyond the average shadetree installer........ I wish i had a cold beer for everytime i heard someone say "how did you do that?" or "WOW! thats AWESOME"........It makes a person feel all warm and fuzzy inside, (yuccch!!! I hate that saying!!!!) I would be in beer for the rest of my life!!!!!!!!!! I will shut up now............well, till next time!!!!
LOL!!!!!!!!!! Nice! I have looked at some of your installs, not too shabby! Looks like the idea of Fibreglasse and custom enclosures is not lost!!!! FYI, this reminds me of the ol range rover systems...........believe it or not, i was part of the developement of the custom sub under the rear shelf of those damned things! Did many in fibreglass and range rover caught wind of it and come up with their own design with help from me and the shop...... LOL!!!! (a##holes they were!!!!!!) Some of your pics also remind me of many other things I have done, but hell, i aint gunna sit around and blab.......... good work on yout installs and enjoy it while you can!!!!!!
Yeap I'm getting old I've trying 2 trained some kids butt they all want 2 learn d custom stuff and not the every day real life get pay , they don't understand d you can't learn experience in a month Custom work is cool but that's not going 2 pay d bills on a every day basics, unless you a big shot(Steve brown, Gary biggs, etc......)
