I have the above stereo & when my ipod is connected via the KDC ip500 adapter(think thats the part #) all I get for artist name is "purchased music, or top25 played" . Music plays great, title of song comes up. Why wont the artist name come up?

    Thanks

Check your ID3 tag. Open Windows media Player, then go to library. Right click on any song and go to Advanced Tag Editor and click

Make sure the correct info is in the right places, if not change it. Then reload your Ipod.

    And its KCA IP500

Thanks, I am not too good at this stuff. I use Itunes & I do not see a ID3 tag??

I'm not sure what its called in ITunes, I use Anapod Explorer to load my Ipod, and I use AudioGrabber to rip music to my PC.

The ID3 tag editor could be called something else in ITunes. But that is where the problem is. The wrong info is in the Artist place in the tag editor and we need to change it. We just need to figure out how to get there.

Here is what my son says to do.

Open ITunes and go to library.

Pick a song and right click on it. Select and click on "Get Info"
You should get a box with the following headings on the top
    Summary, Info, Options, Artwork

Select info, and make any corrections you need to. Save changes and reload you Ipod when your finished. It should now display correctly

Thanks, checked info & artist is correct. Maybe I will give Kenwood a call tomorrow & ask them. Pretty smart son though! The stereo is just seeing the wrong thing somehow.

    Thanks

Stereo only sees what the ipod sends to it. I'll have him load his Ipod using ITunes and check it on my radio (I use the same interface that you have). He also uses Anapod Explorer to load his Ipod but he has ITunes on his computer and I dont. Anyway

I am curious, are your music files MP3, or aac?

I'll try to get back to you tomorrow
