I have some used amps that I am trying to repair. All of them go into protection mode immediately after power up. They are different brands, but inside mostly the same. Any and all troubleshooting hints are welcome!

If the amps go into protest mode with no speakers hooked up, could many many different things. I might first start checking the power supply voltages, see if they are doing the job. Also look to see if the output transistors are in peices! Could be alot of things... very hard to diagnose without the amp in front of me, and even then, no guarantee I could figure it out! LOL!!

Do you have a meter? The main problem to look for are the FET's. Also, check the resistors are the FET's, they will also open up.
