Be patient...not many members are up that late man...looks like a pretty goo install....what do you mean it doesn't hit that hard?? Or have you just gotten used to the bass and it doesn't seem as intense as it used to??

Yeah, a guy I work with has an escort with two 13.5 JL w7's run by two 1000/1.. he built a custom vented box into his back seats.. the box is a big box. Maybe you don't have enough airspace. b/c his bass is too loud to listen in the car without instantly getting an ear ache. I think the decibles were close to 155. The rain bounced off his roof like bullets from a gun. I mean, You must have something wired wrong, or it looks like you have a sealed box.. but no really, that system should hit.

ported it would be LOUDER but it may not sound as good...
determining how many ohms they are wired at will determine if thats the cause which im thinkin it is... higher ohms more resistance less power the amp will send..even though those are slash they provide 1000 watts at 1-4 ohms if they are wired in axcess of 4 ohms thats your problem

Those subs also require a hugmongous box to sound good if they are ported

is there a better amps for theses subs?

Why would you want a better amp than a JL 1000/1...more power wouldn't make it sound any louder

then would you guys be able to tell me what would be a better design in my trunk with this setup?

Joe you set up is perfect. A sealed box with those two subs and that amp should produce fairly impressive airflow throught the entire cab of your car. I would also be hard pressed to believe that a box that professionally made would have an air leak substancial enough for your subs not to hit. I am fairly certain that if you subs are not hitting than it is either an issue with the settings on your head unit or the wiring of you subs or tuning of your amp.

What level is the gain set at on that amp?

I would suggest, since it sounds as if you have very little experience with this install, you take it to the installer who did the work. It should be a relatively easy fix.

I would personnally fire the subs either upwards under the rear deck, or forwards through the back seat. With what you have, i can see why it rattles the trunk more than anything. The lows probably do well I am guessing (50Hz on down) but the upper sub bass just sounds like crap, right?

If it was me, ONE sub, ported enclosure, firing up through a "opened up" rear deck. That will rip your face off more than 2 subs trying to break spot welds in the trunks sheet metal............. More and bigger IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have to accomodate your car and maximize its potential..........
