I just bought a brand new Audiobahn a8005d mono class d amp it is 2ohm stable. I have 4 ga power and ground and hooked up the remote and rca's. There are 2 25a fuses on the amp and everytime I turn the car on they blow. I tried everything I can think of. The led lights of the amp and the fan still turn on but the fuses blow and no power gets to the sub. What is causing this it is driving me nuts.
maybe your ohm load on your subs are to low, if your subs are dvc it can be tricky sometimes to get the right ohm load.
I don't even have the sub or rcas hooked up all i have is the power ground and remote. Soon as its turned on the fuses blow
Absolutely NOT Is it blowing as soon as the power wire is hooked up or when power is applied to the remote line? If it goes just on hooking up the power and ground, a polarity Diode is shorted or a filter cap across power and ground is shorted. Easy fix either way. If it goes when power is applied to the remote, we have one or more shorted MOSFETS Its new take it back
Yes...I agree with Ranger...same thing happened to my friends Memphis 1000D...fried...paperweight...audiobahn sucks
rofl your problem is you bought an audiobahn thinking it would last... this one however at least at the curtosy to blow before you cant return it anymore haha
Definitely, don't put high amp fuses in. Use what is factory installed. If you are trying it with only the power connected (no speakers, RCA's, etc), then you have a bad amp. I would take it back and get a new one. Honestly, I would get something other than Audiobahn. Jason www.audiotekx.com
