I bet people are pretty embarrassed when they realized that four 6.5inch speakers are louder than their systems lol.

Sweet setup though...I like those amps...casual style

That box designed for spl or do those speakers sound good?

this box is SPL only. Tuned a bit too high for actual liistening.

I'm really impressed as TL's are difficult to model mathematically.

Any info on the design process would be greatly appreciated.

I too would also like to see your design/box parameters, TL's are hard to make, especially in a car, as SVO says.

Years ago i sent literally weeks on a set of KEF 6 inchers, making a transmission line enclosure, went through way too many sheets of partical board! Finally got a very musical sound out of it. Was used in the home however, not car. The frequency response was smooth down to about 35 or 40 Hz if i remember right, and that was out in the open, no room reflections to interfere. I run it in my living room and was good for about 110 dB in the house on an old Yamaha amp that kicked out about 200 watts too each speaker. LOVED the way it sounded on Bachbusters and Time warp! really accurate in its response.......

DAMNIT! all this talk about SPL systems makes me wanna do another one! seen an old dodge full size van for sale down the road the other day for 200 bucks...........hmmmmmmmmmmm??????????

No worries. I just ordered my second round of subs yesterday. The first ones lasted for 10 show and many hours of testing. Not bad considering they were getting almost 5 times their rated power.

I originally wanted a unique system to compete in IASCA Stock 1-160. The choices were 1 12" sub, 2 10's, 3 8's or 4 6 1/2's. I had seen every setup except for the 6 1/2's. That is why I went that route. These were the best value for subs and that is why I got them. I knew they would not last an entire season and I bought them knowing that.

And I have another IASCA show this weekend and can't wait to try out the new box on an AC190. Looking to get around a 144 on the dash.

Nothing fancy, just a box;) Just a lot of trial and error. I have had the car over 5 years and have had a lot of chance to experiment with different styles of boxes although this year was the first tme I have fired the subs forward like this and it does do the job quite nicely.

As of today a 143.4 on the TermLab on the dash. Sorry for the confusion but when I mentioned "on the TL" I meant "On the TermLab" and not transmission line enclosure.
