well in my sub search i have seen some really cool looking subs that people say suck, and some really good subs that look like everyday ordinary subs. are there any that look cool and pound hard as hell? i like all music from rock and rap to country(techno too) and everything inbetween.
It shouldnt matter what they look like. Their purpose is to sit in your trunk and make lots of noise. What are you looking to spend on each sub, how many, and what size?
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You want pretty and loud! Nice, get out your checkbook............ Cause the sky is the limit! I dont know what is really all that great anymore, but most reputable companies make a product that is good and reliable and loud..... what are ya doing, puttin the subs in the box inverted? Fusion makes some killer looking and HARD hitting subs, and the price is OK. I saw and heard an Orion 15 inch DVC that rocked HARD not two days ago, It was in a pickup ported through the bed into the cab. their are LOTS of woofers on the market nowadys that pund hard and look good, but bottom line, do what sounds best to YOU! I have done many systems that would tear your face off with crap speakers, they looked like gold, were crap, and with a crap amp,and still ROCKED, it s all in the install/box......... In my opinion, I would lok at Boston's, Fusions, Orions, Alpines, Oz's, and whatever else anyone in here suggests......again, bottom line, listen and find out what you like!
The id max from image dynamics have some rather sexy backsides if you got room to invert them. They also have the sound and spl to justify the price. http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/products_page.php?id=idmax&type=sub
http://www.cardiscountstereos.com/catalog page.asp?Product+#=LW12590 these are pretty, but are they any good. cause i want something that looks good and will pound hard. just in case i decide to get a custom sub enclosure.
I have always been partial to Orion, been working with them since the beginings of the company. Although on hiatus for the past 10 years! When i am ready o do a system in my ol truck and the lil ladies car, I will most liekly go with Orion for most of it... Wouldnt be a bad decision.
