I was thinking about getting the "cap killer" or something bigger.

I am going to get a Hifonics BXI1206D.

According to the calculator on the kinetik website i need the HC1400 http://www.kinetikaudio.com/hc1400.asp

Has anyone here had any experience with these or know anyone who has one.

    How well does it work?

    Thanks everyone

yeah, they are very high quality, and work well for car audio, their only downfall is that they are quite heavy, so be aware of that.

Well i have an explorer so weight is no issue.

Would i need to get an isolator if i got the hc1400?

You wouldn't need an isolator but it would be a good idea. That way you only use the kinetic for the system and your vehicle battery will always have a charge for starting the vehicle. Even if you were to play the system for a long period of time with the vehicle off.
I have nothing but good to say about kinetic batteries.
