that depends on alot of factors.

there is not a all or nothing solution.

Tell us what two 15s or three 12s you are looking into?

Or just tell us a price range and we'll help you out.

    Be specific.

Same as asking whats faster? a inline-4 or a v6? a lot of factors come into play

also we need to know what kind of music you like to listen to most, what vehicle you are going to install in, (you can fit a bigger box in a hummer than you can a miata) what amp you want to run, price range, like ancient said.. lots of information is still needed.

if you're just looking for ideas and not specifics, we can help
if you're just trying to settle a dispute with a buddy over which is better, good luck-

Ok guys, I got 21 cubic feet of trunk space in a 95 Lincoln Towncar. I listen to alot of different music, anything from Dean Martin to Snoop Dogg. Probably looking to spend $200...what kind of brand will I be looking at?

$200 for everything - amp, wires, sub, box?

    or $200 for just subs?

even $200 for subs is going to be hard to find of any quality

I no longer need an amp, I got a 1200 watt Performance Teknique, are these any good?

$200 for the subs should get me 2 12's right?

i spend 150 on my kicker 350.2 amp and it would put your 1200 watt PT one to shame. For the money and easy of location go to circuit city buy a kicker amp and you wont regreat it trust me. I personaly run a US AMP (best amp maker period) DE-1000 (cost 1200 bucks and worth every cent) for my subs (3 jl audio 12w6v1s *FOR SALE*) a kicker 350.2 for my rear 6X9s (kicker 3 ways) and a old skool Fosgate 125.2 for my front speaks (infinity referance 5.25s) and i couldnt be happier with the results.

    yes!

Take it back before you realize that a 1983 Kraco 40 watt power booster will stomp its ass, even at 20% thd......

Well you probably should just save up and get a better system. 1600 watt amp for 129 on ikesound sounds like these amps are crap.

    settle down boys

but theyre right.. you can get much better power for the money.. just be patient and do the homework, there are a lot of good deals online. also, there are a lot of options with 20cu ft of space.. I recommend one 15 in a large ported box, that'll offer loud for the least amount of money, but you will be hard pressed to get a good quality sound for under 200 dollars. if you want to go the cheap route, go to overstock and drop the deuce on one of thier monoblock amps.. just take it easy, they're not real sturdy amps, but they'd be a lot better than the performance teknique.

ps.. I had a 40 watt power booster back in the day (yes I'm that old) and I thought it kicked ass!

Me too, they did kick ass at the time. Cause that's about all that was affordable back then :D

    a pair of these

And power to push them would knock some stuff loose :)

    Yes, ramos:

I have built several systems (home and car) and used dayton subs with great results. These are a great cost-effective alternative to the high priced subs, and they're almost as tough as chuck norris. Just keep them in a ported box, and power issues should not bother you, they tend to "choke up" when underpowered in a sealed box, but they have outstanding performance in bandpass enclosures, easy to build, but watch the specs closely.. bandpass boxes are really picky:blink:
