    Hey guys.

    I'm currently running a sony CDX-M7850 head unit and 2 Pioneer TSA 6911 speakers in my landrover defender. Here are their specs:

    Headunit:

    # S-MOSFET 4x52W output
    # 2 Pre-out
    # 1 Sub-out
    # 4 V Max. Pre-amp output
    # Aux-in
    # DSO (Dynamic Soundstage Organizer)
    # EQ7 (7 Band Equalizer)

    Speakers:

    * NEW 2005/6 models
    * 3-way 6x9 speakers
    * Maximum Power: 330 Watt
    * Nominal input power: 80 Watt
    * Speaker Size: 265 x 185 mm
    * Woofer size (cm): 16,3 x 23,7 cm
    * Woofer material: Crystalline IMPP Cone woofer with Butyl rubber edge
    * Midrange size (mm): 57,0 mm
    * Midrange material: cone mid-range with Ferrite magnet
    * Tweeter size (mm): 18,0 mm

    Im don't know enough about this stuff to choose an amp and a sub, could you give me some advice? I dont want to buy stuff that will limit my speakers, but obviously I dont want to spend money on capability that I wont get to use either.
    Im looking at http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/default.asp , they have deals on packages and ive found them to be a good company in the past. What would be really helpful would be if someone could tell me what wattage would suit me, for both amp and sub.

    Many thanks for any suggestions or infomation to help the choice

    Well first what kind of music do you listen to? Want loud or clear? How much are you willing to spend?

    Large vehicle, large sub.
    And the more power the better, not just for output but clarity.
    Single 15" in a ported enclosure with a REAL 500 watts should do it.

    Yeah sorry, forgot to mention those bits. Music taste is rock/metal mostly. Indie and classical for a change of pace. Id prefer clear @ quite loud thanh blury @ very loud.
    As for money, around the 125-150 pound mark for both amp and sub.
    Thanks

    Okay.. I checked out the site you prescribed, (thanks.. by the way, I'd have no idea where to send UK guys for stuff.). You're trying to stay 125-150 pounds which is somewhere between 230 and 275 USD (right?).

    Problem being the most affordable (decent) mono amp on that site starts out at 100 pounds, and the same with a decent set of subwoofers. They have some great deals on sony equipment, but I tend to steer people away from sony.. they used to be great products, but the quality of parts they're using just isn't what it used to be.. you could buy sony, but then you'd be out the extra money for the fire extinguisher that I'd have to recommend:D

    if you're dead set on getting equip from that site, then I'd say save up an extra 50 pounds and get something that you're sure to enjoy for a long time.
    I think this one would suit nicely..
