Hey im trying to install a system into my boys 2005 Mazda RX8 with his factory radio. Does anyone know how I can do that without running into problems? Like where does the RCA's plug into and how can I give him remote access to the system allowing the amp to actually turn off?

get a Good LOC, (line output converter) not one of the cheap ones from Walmart either unless you want noise

the Remote Turn on can be run to any "key on only" hot Circuit, If it has a Power Ant, that would be the BEST because then it will power off whent he radio is turned off AND when the car is turned off.

there isnt a power ant, his car has the ant in the windshield. what else could be done to make sure the amp turns off? if i do a kill switch, does that get put into the power wire for the system from the batt. or does it go thru the remote wire, which in that case where does the other end of it run to?

Look toward JL Audio's CleanSweep converter. Excellent product, and all the RCA outs you will need

the jl clean sweep is a great setup. if you had the premium sound system installed in the car i would go for the clean sweep. but if you have the lower end oem deck i would look towards an aftermarket setup

so there is no sense otherwise if my boy isnt down to buy the jl. its outta his price range. the cheaper ones arent worth it? i have one that they used when i first got my car before i put my screen in it, where i had my jls bumping with a stock head unit it, it wasnt too bad it just sucked having no sub control. also he doesnt have the expensive stock system he has the base cd player system with 6 speakers, which are 4 mains and 2 tweeters.

your boy has a 2005 rx8 (a car that many of us might trade certain body parts for). I would urge you to not let impatience ruin the vibe of a car so sweet. in other words, dont fill it up with cheap stuff, when you can let him save up a little while and get the products that are guaranteed to bring years of enjoyment and listening pleasure. I think it's worth the wait. Please don't hate on me, but (although I beleive that walmart sells lots of quality products:) )walmart stuff is okay for a 78 fairmont wagon, not for an 05 RX8 jmo..(just my opinion)

No i know tha tcompletely i do everything legit. i get expensive audio equipment for very cheap prices, im good friends with an audio guy that does some cars in the SEMA show in Vegas. Hes just too busy to do somethin small like this thats y i havent asked him for help. But my boy has a brand new solo with a 1600 competition amp, all legit equipment i just personally feel like his best bet would be an aftermarket player as well. But do you know is it possible to get a mount kit for his car since he has all that crazyness goin on there. All the buttons for everything in the car are on the same piece.

Couldn't you just use high level inputs? May sacrifice a little sound quality though.
