I do now know much about sytems but ere we go. I have a sony xplode head unit and i will be buying a kicker com[ 10" in a sealed enclosure. I will also be getting a alpine 250 w amp. What do you guys think about this setup? Also I will be making custom 6x9 baskets for my eclipse and what type of 6x9's are good.

What type of kicker sub, Comp, Comp vr?

I would recommend JL Audio, Alpine, and Polk for sound quality, or kicker, if you want a little bass.

Ya. I agree. Comps are good subs, but for the same price you could get a better product from either alpine or JL. My current sytem cost me around 400, but since our DSMs are small we can be loud with small subs. Im hitting 137 with (2)Jl audio 12W0's. around 500wrms. I have JL 6.5 coaxils in the front and Jensen 6x9s in the rear.

I think they are just comps but i am not a 100 percent on that.

check into my favorite on a budget sub... JBL GTO.
much better sensitivity than kicker so it needs less power for the same output. But with any 10 and low/moderate power in a sealed enclosure expect good smooth bass but not earthshaking intestine jarring bass.
    ok?

I got it it right this time. I have a 10" kicker comp and I have a alpine mrv f340 v12. I hope that the amp is enough. Please tell me what you think

sorry my responce is delayed. That amp should be more than enough. the good things about Comps, is they run off of almost no power. Good luck with thr system.

Sweet. I will be on here asking Q's about How to hook it up to my car.

There's nothing wrong with the comps. I used to rock a set of comp12's powered by a frickin kicker 120.2, and i thought it pounded hard(at the time). Then listened to a car with 2 type-r 12 powered by a alpine 1000 and soon after upgraded my setup to 2 kicker comp vr12's powered by an alpine 1000. Like DSM said, it takes nothing to push those comps.

Could I hook up my amp to power my sub and then use another channel to power other speakers like 6x9's? I am making custom baskets for my eclipse so I can get 6x9's. Also what is the best way to hook up the sub. All the wires are ran so I hope it is self explanatory. The reason I bought what I did is bevause I wanted something light and cost effective for the time so the rest of the money go's to my eclipse.

You want a really good setup, go with what i got (blaupunkt deck, 2 12" juggernauts by mmats, 2 3000 watt mono-block mtx amps, bat-cap, 6.5" polk audio door speakers, folling up with 4 1" tweets) [with that setup i placed 4th out of 200 in state in a sound comp]the juggernaut 12's are gonna run around 500 to 600 each and a good box for them will be quite expensive due to the thickness the wood must be the amps and bat-caps will run a few hundred and the polks about 100-120 bucks a pair tweets around 10 - 15 bucks a pair a good or even halfway decent blaupunkt will run a few hundred as well but you will have one awesome system if you go with this setup (esp. in an eclipse cuz its smaller than my jeep so you will get more sound moving through it) just be carefull with the juggernaut 12's dont bust out your glass! (oh yeah get a better alternater so you dont kill your battery)

on your box you should go to a professiopnal audio shop and have them build a custom (ported) box to the specs of your sub(s) a ported box will pound harder than a sealed box because you get more air which is the way a
sub-woofer works the more air the speaker gets will help in two ways (1. stays cooler. 2. the more air it has to move the harder it will hit)

WHATEVER YOU GO WITH THOUGH I HOPE YOU ARE VERY SUCCESFULL AND VERY HAPPY WITH IT AND MUCH LUCK TO YOU!
