Hey guys. I have gotten some solicitations for some gear recently and was wondering what you have heard or think of the gear. Some looks nice, but others look more like function following form .
Tidal is the first company... Piano series, Tsunami series and Amea series speaker sets in particular. Also, I am wondering about the Preso 2 pre-amp and Impact Amps.

Omicron is the second company. Particularly the Pi Greco amp line.

Nordic. Seems as if I have heard about this company, but I don't remember in what context.

These first 2 look to be decent. Nordic strikes me as familiar, but I don't recall why so I am still iffy on them. These are the companies I may really consider... But I am awaiting more info on them and hopefully some insight from y'all .

I will group the last companies sets as they seem rather flashy, almost designed with looks in mind, and accurate reproduction as an afterthought. Not really what I am interested in, but they are persistant. Vince Christian, O'Heocha, Artistic Audio "mobius", Kea and LiKo.

Any info would be greatly appreciated, and discounts may be in order for those who offer help (bribery hehehehe)

I don't have any experience with any of those speaks/amps. I do have experience with "European" speaker manufacturers, though. One thing that seems to be consistent among all European speakers, especially those from England, is that they have a very Dynaudio-like warmness and smoothness to them. They usually take in signal, and spit out signal...nothing is added. As accurate as this may be, some find it rather bland and uninspiring. Others wet themselves at the mere mention of "european speakers". Is there any way you can get a hold of a set of speaks from any of these manufacturers? They definitely look cool (I like the eye-shaped unit from Kea) but looks, especially in home/car audio, mean little. The easiest to audition euro speaks in this country are probably Jamo, Monitor Audio, Mission (not sure how "european" they are anymore, though...Denon's been messing with them), and of course, B&W. I know this reply might not be of much help, but I have found that most euro speaker makers have the same "general" sound to their products. As far as euro electronics...I have no idea. U.S. and Japan have more or less dominated this category from the get go.

:ranting: BTW, don't go to HTF. A lot of those guys take the fun out of watching a movie. They watch pic quality or listen to speaker sq....seemingly forgetting the fact that they should be loosing themselves in the movie. I bet half those guys haven't been laid in 10 yrs. God, I hate that place! :ranting:

I hear you jeff. I am asking at HTT, as I am not a big fan of HTF.

I am just hoping for a broad array of opinions...

I am the one who produces Kea Audio! The website is now www.keaaudio.com
We manufacture in New Zealand, which is definitely not Europe. And we have an emphasis on looks AS WELL AS sound! We therefore invented a new cone material which is extremely light and at the same time stiff and has a fantastic and dynamic sound, nothing like those mentioned english speakers. We achieve an ultra low dynamic and natural bass because of our rigid cones and massive magnets. The tweeters are of the same material but only 0.1mm thick! They go over 40kHz (not that this is necessary but it gives you an idea about the properties of the material). The sound is more like metal tweeters but we managed to dampen any resonances with a new dampening system, so they don't have that annoying ringing. All our speakers have a flat frequency response and enormous stage imaging. I think you should hear them before you come to an opinion as " focus on looks".

To be quite honost, when it comes to home audio, Just keep in mind you get what you pay for. If you get ebay speakers, Dont expect them to sound like Bose.
