    Equipment Review:

    Tuner: JVC KT-SR2000

This unit comes Nicly Package in Vacum Formed Plastic Packaging with Tuner and Remote (with Battery)

Tunner has Nice large 2 Line Display for Song and Artist Name's.

Built in FM Transmitter with Muti Freq Options from 88.1 to 93.1

Browse Music Channels by Catagory or Dial Direct

18 Presets and Last Channel Recall

    and MUTE :)

    Smaller than last years model

So far I have found no con's to report with this unit, Over all a VEry Nice Plug and Play Tuner

    Car Kit : KD-K6012
    [IMG]

Personally I dont like it.. No Option to Hard Wire the Unit, and No option other than a Suction Cup that I have yet to hold to my Windshield

I will end up Manufacturing my Own Mounting sytem for my Truck and Designing my own Wiring Hookup so I can Hard Wire the Unit to the Trucks Electric System

JVC really Screwed up with this one :aurgue:

    Home Kit: KS-K6013
    [IMG]

Overall this is OK, however the Base needs to be Weighted like last years was..... but that is a minor issue

now to the Nitty Gritty the SERVICE

Activation was a Breeze, and it was NOT automated, I could not believe there was a LIVE voice on the phone, and on top of that it was a AMERICAN voice :jawdrop:

Run in running in under 5 min

So Far Sound Quality, Reception, and Selection have been Excellant.

I find my Self Primary one 001 (sirius Hits) or 020 ( Octane)

If anyone has any Questions about This Review or About Siruis Radio Ask and I shal Respond

Not that I have found... but I have only had it for a day

I will post at the end of the week after I have about 600 mi's in :)

and yes you have the Mount a Ant, but the one that came with the JVC kit is a Magnet Mount

and it does not have to be on the roof persay

infact I have mine on the HOOD :p :p :p :p near the Factory Ant on my Truck.. this may be moved though

I wanted to add that the Ant. is not like a Radio Ant

they are small, the one I have is 2in by 2in and about 1in tall....

it is the little sqaure box in the lower right of the car kit picture above

i don't like the music on Sirius, they just loop the same 20-30 songs over and over for a month, then they switch it (well at least most of the songs) for a new variety. however, the channels with the same genre also share the same songs, so you just have zero variety at times.

XM is better for music IMO
    Sirius is better for talk/news/sports

i just know what i experience at work, day in and day out of this stupid job (circuit city) i have to listen to both. XM has more music by far, even according to the Sirius Rep that comes in.

well some people like red, some people Like blue

I listened to Both, as far as Music Goes I did not see any differance, maybe they(sirius) did not play music you like..

Most of the time Sirius Runs By Request, which is a Format I like

As far as Reps go, they are a dime a dozen, you should never listen to a rep. PERIOD(I know I am one :p )

but in 2006 the real differance will emerge, which is the real reason I went with them over XM....

but it is really pointless. so the final word is

    Music is Music....

ohh and if your wondering, I listen on average 8-10hrs a day, over 3/4's of that is drive time for my job (reps put alot of miles in) so I get a good feel of programming

Yes, that is definitely gonna eb awesome. The best part, I think, is that he will basically have no rules as far as content, correct?

FCC has no control over private Broadcasts, which is what Sat Radio is, Private Subcription broadcasts

yeah, in a year or two after i have a couple things paid off, and with my insurance dropping in price this time next year (an at fault accident and a speeding ticket going off my record YAY) i'm definately going to get sirius... i think i'll be going with a home/car model, especially seeing as how i don't think eclipse offers tuners for either service...
