Hi. New here! To the point now. Have 99 honda accord 4 door. Going to order sub box off of ebay that is custom made to fit into trunk against back seat. Look it up. Ebay-honda accord sub box. It says 1.75 cubic air. I have a kicker 700.5 amp. Wanting to run one 12, 2-10's or mabey 4-8's. With that amp. It is 2ohm stable. What suggestions do you guys have. Currently running slot box with 2 -10's. Audiobahn. Hate the sound. Want bass that hits you hard. Rock metal and contry mostly I listen to. Thanks in advance. P.s. that box looking at points back and is sealed.
well the bass ur wanting will most likely come from a sealed box so i would say ur on the right track...
ya man, go with that guys boxes... and sealed as well, ive bought a box from him in the past for my old corolla, he builds them good and sturdy.... i currently have that box in my friends corolla with 2 cvr 12s running at 2ohm and he gets a really wide range of sound... as far as the speaker sizes id go with 1 or 2 10s... since 12s are not fast enough for quick bass vs deep and drawn out. since you have those 10s looks like you're good to go already
ya you could do the 8s except i think the trunk space of an accord is too big for something like that, you'll lose too much base BEFORE it ever hit the inside of the car... i would only put 8s into some type of hatchback.... not an accord... stick with the 10s
just a thought. Im not into compitition or nothing but was reading and got few ideas. Sealed with 1.75 with two 10" dcons. Or 1.75 with one fosgate HX2 12". Or will my current audiobahn AW-100T be good sealed.
u can always try ur audiobahn first and see if u like it and if not buy something else.. u already own it
Well I put my audiobans in a sealed 1.50 box and they sux! Way less bass than the 2.0 slot ported box I had them in. Dang it! Im getting aggravated!!!!!!! With my kicker 700.5 they sound like im running a 25x25 watt amp from wal mart or something. What the heck!!! Help!!!!
for what it matters........ The birth sheet for my kicker 700.5 is 972 watts. Just don't get why it don't push subs hard!
also a sealed box is always gonna be less efficient then ported.. so it is gonna take more power to get more sound out of them.. if u need a smaller amp to push the subs let me know man.. or if u want different subs and an amp i got that too...
Ok. I am aware its not just going to subs, but just figured would do better than it does. Hmmmmm. Thanks for the replyes
it has to be the box design/ trunk. if you want it louder in the car you can port thru the rear deck. since you don't have a ton of power your bass needs all the help it can get to get to your ears. the back seat isn't helping. either bigger subs and more power to compensate... or... help the bass pass thru the rear deck. trunked vehicles are a little harder to get loud. i know guys with trucked car that dive with the rear seats down just to be a little louder. seats up and they loose like 10DBs.
i had a 5 ch and it powered my 4 8's just fine... its not that he needs a mono block amp.. he just needs more power to get the sound past the rear seat cushion. mono amps come in many power levels.. from 100 watts to 14,000 watts. saying he needs a mono block to get loud is like saying i need a v8 to go fast.... without saying how much power the v8 needs to have.. 150 hp or 400hp.
Im sure I have enough power for what I need. Pushed 2 12" l5's hard. Just too boomy! Looking at some sundown 8's
Im not sure sundown 8" subs are good for sealed box though. Any thoughts? 1.75 air space to work win.
