I have a JL 12W3V3-4 and a JL 12W6V2 that I am trying to decide which one to put in my new car. I started with the W3 and it sounded great but then found the W6 at a pawn shop brand new for $175 and I couldn't pass it up. Both of the subs were powered individually by my MTX X500D amplifier. I had each of them in my 1999 Passat and once I put the W6 in the trunk lid bent. I listen to all rap music and plan on keeping the stock system in my 2010 Wolfsburg besides adding a sub, but don't know which one to put in. I was going to put in the W6 and add dynamat or something like it but don't know if that will help reduce the damage the sub causes. Personally I am thinking the W3 sounded better in my passat but I may be wrong. What would you guys do? Whichever sub I don't use I can sell to a friend who wants whichever one I'm selling.

I have 2 ported W7's in a ext cab truck rear firing. Those things make everything shake soo much the back wall hit the cab...I added sound deadener and it barely moves and seems the sound bounces off of it rather then trying to rip the wall off the truck. Yes sound deadener will work on your trunk too (I used sound deadener showdown)
    Personally id use the W6

So I finally had my w6 hooked up to the premium 10 speaker HU in my wolfy and it sounds surprisingly good. There is a little bit of rattling but I cannot find it. Does a little bit of rattle mean I should dynamite if I don't want anything to be messed up in my car?
