well i got the subs wired in parallell and its hooked up positive to positive on my amp. thats the way the local car audio shop told me to do it. they are only 250rms so i dont need a huge amp.

the audio shop obviously doesn't know that the amp isn't stable to that impedance. running your amp at 1.3 ohms can and will most likely harm it.

if it was me, i would use that amp to run mids and highs. find a 1 ohm stable sub amp.

it dont shut off like it was when it was bridged on the amp. whats the diference running it actually bridged like the amp says going from 1 channels positive to the other channels negative than using each channels positive?

still in the long run u will kill the amp..and the speakers probably dont sound anything like they should as your not pushing nearly enuff to reach that 250 RMS for any of them..which can also harm the subs.

    i had http://vminnovations.com/product_1613/Pyramid_PB715X_1000W_2_Channel_Amplifier.html

which the RMS on this thing is TERRIBLE come to find out but i had my kickers running at 1-ohms on tyhis thing (which it shouldnt be able to do) anyways these days that amp now has issues..it overheats very easily it will cut out n go into protection mode all the time and i blew a few fuses on it..and it had to be do to the fact of how abused it has been and running what it shouldnt be running..if you want a cheap amp and a lot of power i suggest this...
    http://vminnovations.com/product_5141/PLANET_AUDIO_AC1500_1_1500W_Monoblock_Amplifier.html

    i have 4 12's and i want 2 of these.

a clipped signal can harm the subs, not low power.

i used to run 2 12's on my hifonics vulcan 20 years back. only 50 watts per channel. the subs were mtx blue thunders. 250 rms power rating each. as long as the signal is clean you can run as little power as you wish. it wont get record breaking loud, but can still sound good at reasonable listening levels.

i still have the amp too. its a tried and true performer.

id go with the amp i showed...pushes a lot more power and actually is a decent brand

..btw what exactly is clipping? and how can u tell its happening

oops sorry never posted it but i think this is a great bang for the buck...after the research ive done on the company and the amp itself...seems to be very good

    I first must say,

I don't know anything about Planet Audio, so this is just my gut talking, but that price (to me at least) screams Caveat Emptor. $90 for a 700w RMS Amp? Perhaps its Overrated, they don't last, or use cheap parts (resulting in distortion), or maybe all the above.

Maybe someone who owns this brand will tell me why I'm wrong, but if its too good to be true, it probably is.

i know its a sony amp but i honestly think it will put out at least close to the rms its rated at. ive had it wired down to 1 ohm and it dont even heat up. it is a class d amp and ive blown several sets of subs with it. sony dont make bad stuff if you buy the higher class non walmarts junk

Ive found a lot of people saying that planet audio is a solid brand.. (used to be better but still very solid) also have found many people saying that the amps however push every bit what they say they can.

i have honestly done much research on this..and if your going budget even if it dont run the rms at the price is will still pack a punch and better than the sony..and anything near its price range.

and was this aimed at me?

its down to 1.3 ohms so its getting like 810 rms. i have the amp turned way down. how big of fuses does that planet audio have?

There's no way your car is getting 14.4V to the amp constantly, so the RMS rating specs are higher than what you'll experience in-car.

How big are the fuses in this amp?

40 amps of current would only produce around 400W RMS, so I'm not sure what "rated output" the specs are referring to.

i know imnot geting 14.4 volts to the amp. i have 3 25 amp fuses so 75 amps total.

ive done my research. and you got your pyrimid for free good for you. i wasent trying to be a dick or anything. just you were saying i was running cheap equipment and yea it may be cheap but thats why i title it my BUDGET system, but still id take sony over pyrimid anyday. the only reason i got the sony is it was cheap. and im willing to bet that this sony pushes em better than that planet audio and i got it for cheaper. can you answer my question tho. do you know how big the fuses are for that planet audio amp?
