I have 2 15" Memphis mojos,2 hifonics colossus amps,3 kinetik hc2000 batteries, and a 200 amp Ohio generator. This is in my 02 Ford escape. I currently have the subs in a 16 cube box tuned at 39hz..the box is in a wall behind my front seats. It only does 146 db at the headrest. I'm very dissapointed....any suggestions?
I didn't....seemed big to me also and I wanted it tuned around 50hz...traded a cheap amp for it so I didn't complain
why would you want it tuned to 50? it would sound terrible on music. 8 to 10 cubes total should be better.
Well, 50 Hz will definately get you there. When I used to compete, my van was in the middle to upper 160s and it was tuned to 62Hz. Each speaker was in a 14-15 cu ft box. This combination definately worked. Dang thing was loud.
Music:lol:, Of course not. In fact, the only speakers in it was the woofers. Back to the 50 Hz Box Pedro Quiroga is way more right than I am. I tuned a lot of customers boxes to 45 Hz and I never had a complaint. These boxes handled lows because they were large. When tuning that high we did use amps with subsonic filters. Tuning to 50 might be a problem, especially in a box that size. You will need a subsonic filter. Loud, it will be loud
