I am buying the Kicker 12" Dual 2 Ohms CompVR Subwoofer Enclosure (http://www.woofersetc.com/p8713/07DCVR12--Kicker-12"-Dual-2-Ohms-CompVR-Subwoofer-Enclosure.htm). I am not sure what size amp I should get. I want my subs to sound very nice with no distorted sound. I will not be blasting my subs to their max potential if that means anything. I am very inexperienced when dealing with car audio so any help would be greatly appreciated.
not true. i know quite a few people that have been having great luck with the audiopipe mono amps. my bud has 2 IA 12's on a 1500 watt model and its nice and loud. we metered it doing 143.4 dbs in the trunk, and getting louder. as they are still breaking in. a 144 or 45 aint out of the question. it only costs 160 new. or look into their 1000 watt model.
Becquerel: The SI unit of radioactivity. One becquerel (symbol Bq) is defined as one disintegration per second. Although the number of becquerels is a measure of how strongly radioactive a particular source is. Gray: The SI unit of absorbed dose of ionizing radiation, The gray (symbol gy) has superceded the rad. One gray is defined as an energy absorption of 1 joule per kilo of irradiated material. One gray is equal to 100 rads. Rem: An Acronym for roentgen equivalent man, the rem is the absorbed dose of ionizing radiation that produces the same biological effect as 1 rad of x-rays or gamma rays. The rem was introduced because some types of ionizing radiation , such as neutrons, produce a greater biological effect for an equivalent amount of absorbed energy than x-rays or gamma rays. In short , the rem is a measure of effectiveness of irradiation. For x-rays and gamma rays, the rem is equal to the rad. For other types of radiation, the number of rems equals the number of rads multiplied by a special factor (called relative biological effectiveness). The rem has been superseded by the sievert in the SI system of units. 1 rem is equal to .01 sieverts Sievert: The SI unit of equivalent absorbed dose of ionizing radiation. The sievert (symbol Sv) has superseded the rem. One sievert is the absorbed dose of radiation that produces the same biological effect as 1 gray of x-rays or gamma rays. One sievert is equal to 100 rems Rad: One rad is equal to an energy absorption of 100 ergs (an erg is a unit of work or energy) per gram of irradiated material. 1 rad is equal to .01 grays
ok sorry about that other reply, thats what happens when you drink too many beers and have multiple windows open, things get put in the wring places. Anyway to answer your question cc, no I have never had any problems with the Hifonics. I have 1 4 channel running the Focals, 1 1207D sitting on my shelf and 1 titan series 1500 @ 1 ohm. Even running at 1 ohm they stay cool, I have no complaints.
man, i was looking at your post earlier and I was like, WHAT???? lol cool, i'm looking into getting a decent sub amp, like a retard i sold mine for some stupid reason. I'm looking for a good budget amp now, Hifonics, power acoustik or even audiopipe.
