    I currently am running a

    Power Acoustic Fubar 10" Dual 4 ohm Subwoofer
    * Peak: 1600 watts
    * RMS: 600 watts
    that has started poping like the voice coil cover has split on the edge. so im guessing i need a new sub
    Is it usual after a year + of use that these subs start to break down?

    What im working with:

    Box : .66 cu ft Air Space Sealed

    AMP : Kenwood KAC-8104D
    300W x 1 at 4ohms (20-200Hz 0.5%THD)
    500W x 1 at 2ohms (100Hz 0.8% THD)
    Class D Amplifier Circuit
    The amp is not maxed out with gain or anything. (im not an expert on tuning it but the amp rairly goes into protection mode)

    Extra Power BMW 2 farad capacitor (only hooked to Sub amp)

    Can someone help me find a good reliable Sub?
    I need to add that im also Unemployed so keeping it around the $100 range would be ideal.... and no i dont want a 12"

    look under component subs, JL Audio 10wx 99.00 Kicker CVR 99.00, MTX TR 10 99.00, Fosgate stage 1 99.00, Polk DB 10 89.00, Fosgate Prime 10 59.00, MTX Jackhammer 10 69.00, MTX Thunder 5500 10 69.00, Infinity Reference 10 71.00, Orion Cobalt 10 71.00, they also have some Pioneer subs for under 100 dollars. Im not sure where you were looking but they are there. If for some reason you dont like crutchfield look at woofersetc or sonic, they have lots of good deals on subs also.

    most of those are good if im pushing 150 - 200w rms.. But im pushing 500w Rms at 2 ohm and 1000w max. Either way i went with a Cerwin Vega Vmax 104 Its a reliable brand and fit all the specs of my box and amp.
