ok im getting http://onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=14214 and i was wondering what amp would be the best to push that sub. i am totaly new to the car audio world and i need all the opinions i can get. and will one of these subs be louder than my friends 2 12" sony xplod subs? thanks for the help guys
save yourself the money and get 2 12'' Phoenix Gold rsdc's and match em with the Phoenix Gold 1200 amp, its what im pushing and they are awesome subs, will blow away your buddies sub and you can get all that for almost the same price as that one sub your looking at
well you see my buddy is stuck on this concept that no matter what single sub i buy i cannot get louder than his, so im trying to prove a point while still sounding good, not to mention i hear just one of those subs is plenty anyway, will that one sub be enough?
i decided to get the kenwood 1000w mono amp, pushes 500watts at 2 ohms, which i think would be ok if i got the 2 ohm sub
have you gotten the amp yet? and that sub will slam off the right amp an in the right box. i advise you to get a different amp if you havent ordered the kenwood yet.
What are you putting this in? There are a ton of subs you could get for a lot cheaper that would slam way harder. But if you are stuck on it or already got it then nevermind. But you could use a bigger amp that will take a 1 ohm load and get the d2 model for a better fit, just give us a budget and we'll make you slam. Really though xplods suck balls. I swear to you my 3.5" coaxs put out more bass than 2 xplods.
actually, i heard that Xplods are descently loud subs if in the right box, but we can get you slammin WAYY harder than those. and like he^ said, if you wanna just give us a budget we can point you ina direction. Here on this forum, we are really support eD and starting to get into Audio Que, and DC sound lab. Liftedranger also uses Q-power for his subs, and he seems to like them. but if you have already bought this stuff we can work with it too.
If he doesn't already have this stuff I was about to definitley recommend audioque, sound solutions, or eD haha. Just for fun I've been playing around with the audioque sdc2.5 (15") on winISD and a single one of those appears to be insane. In the proper box alone it gets up to 96dB (my 10 peaks 89dB), I would love to see what one will do in a car with the cabin gains and everything. Heres some setups for thought Audioque- HDC312 (D2) paired with 1200D= $480 Sound Solutions- Icon 12 w/ SAZ-1000D= $560 elemental Designs- 16Ov.2 paired with nine.2= $440 (you can package these together and save $66) You'll also need wiring (knukonceptz) and you might as well do the big 3 too. Can you build your own box, if so that would be great.
