I'd like a new deck and speakers but I have no idea what to look for in a decent player, all that I know is that I want it to be able to play from my sansa mp3 and have f.m radio The ones in this list all look the same to me, which one is the best of the bunch? ok, first off. what kind of features do you want in a deck besides being able to hook up your mp3 player? will you be adding an amp one day? does it need to have a nice eq built in or a good crossover too? xm ready? im a pioneer man my self, ive had 3 pioneers in the last 10 years.
I do plan on adding an amp but only because I think subwoofers need one... right?^_^ The jvc KD-R400 looks alright, it can play from an mp3 player, does anyone have any objections? is there a better one in that list? I don't care for xm, i'm not sure what either crossover or eq is....
a crossover is a filter for the speakers. it protects a speaker from playing a frequency its not meant to play, like cutting sub bass to a mid range or tweeter, and not allowing mid range into your sub. an EQ allows you to boost or cut certain freq bands. think of it like a more elaborate bass and treble control.
