i've been wanting to get a bigger monoblock cuz i just want more power, so i've been thinking about getting the sundown 1500, which is $440. right now i have a jl 1000/1 and someone is offering me $350 for. you guys think i should go for it? or just stick with what i have? also if you have any other amp suggestions, im all ears.
i just like getting new stuff and trying different brands lol. i've gone through a lot of different things here and there within the past year. i have 3 12" type Rs and a 13w7 sitting at my house. but i know what you mean about the amp, i like it, really considering keeping it
A diff ported box will probably do the trick. The 500 watt increase wont be noticeable. However if you have nothing else to do upgrade your alt, add a 2nd battery and do the Big 3 which should have you running around 13.5V give or take some and that should have your amp slamming harder.
x2 on what pedro said....BUT. those sundown amps are beefy amps and they are underrated. I would love to get my hands on a sundown but i just don't have the money. I'm not too much of a fan of JL audio. overpriced for my taste...
if your box isn't already made to optimum standards and specs for your sub. I suggest getting a new box instead. JL is surely already one of the names up there anyway. what brand is sundown? never heard of it. Maybe because I'm from New Zealand and we don't get much here
i dont know how long they've been around but they make a solid product. on a side note arent the JL's unregulated too? i like that. full power at lower voltages. my hifonics vulcan is like that. can play even with 10V. for comps i think it would be an advantage.
