i have a really tight budge and don't really know where to start. i was looking at stuff on ebay and found some sub/ amp/ amp kit combo but i do not know if they are good. would i be better off buying them seperatedly? is there any brand/ certain product that you recommend? i have a 98 acura tl, would one 12' sub be adequate or should i get a pair? please help and any insights would be appreciate. thanks!

here are the links to the combo on ebay:

Ok, well first off what kind of sound are you looking for? and how big is your budget.
and out of the ones you listed I wouldn't go with the first one, but I would recommend the Fusion.

what do you mean what kind of sound im looking for? if by that you meant what music do i listen to the most, i would say a lot of rap, hip hop. however i do have a lot of variety in my music. i'd like my music to be loud with deep bass. my budget is about 200 for the sub/ amp/ amp kit, but id like to save as much as possible.

so you would be more on the SPL side... you want a lot of BASS!!!!!

if you want a lot of bass then you'd want to go with a vented box and a woofer that would work well in that sort of application... I would suggest (if you have the space) to go with 2 12's instead of just one.

what kind of amp do you have or will you have for the subs? links weren't workin for me so let us know your budget for your sub amp and subs... Also, what amp do you have for your mids and highs and what speakers are you using for your mids and highs?

200 is a very tight budget for amp/subs/amp kit...but right now, if you are just starting off, the kicker comps arent a bad place to start. they beat decent and they are on sale right now on sonic electronix for buy one get one free ($99)

as of now because of the budget im gonna stick with stock speakers, i just want to get a sub/ subs first then upgrade the speakers later. i do not have an amp for the sub yet, i do not know which brand is good. as you said i should go with a vented box and a woofer that work well with that, do you have any particular suggestions? and would i need another amp if i want to upgrade my speakers later? sorry im new at this. my budget is about 200.

do you have a link? thanks!

maybe just go for one sub instead of 2 for now. one 12 with about 250~300 watts will work.

having heard both brands i would go with fusion. the magnums seem to have a low quality to them and they just sounded horrible. it could have been the install it was in, but still sounded bad. i've only seen them at pawn shops and flea markets.

the fusion was in a custom box and had good output for the power being given to it.
