I have a kicker kx 1200.1 amplifier capable of 1350 rms at 1 ohm. Right now I have a Memphis Mojo 1000 watts rms and it's pretty freakin loud for one sub, shakes everything. But it doesn't sound nearrrr as good as my old kickers did. I'm looking for something thats going to be really loud but still sound really good with music not just good for comps. I was thinking about going with 2 12" kicker L5's. I kinda have a limited budget around 350 would probably be about it. Any suggestions?
try Fi? with that amp, you can try out the Q or the BL line...its also in your budget. dc audio also makes some beastly subs and arent too outrageous of a price.
Yeah I had been looking at Fi for awhile, if I can't find anything good for much cheaper I think I might go with the Fi Q, since it's for everyday use and still hits the lows really good which I love. Plus it's a bit cheaper so it would be easier to eventually get another one. Or do you think 1 of those would be much louder than my Mojo?
so did you have one or two subs before this one? if you had 2 then no wonder they were louder than your current sub. i know hifonics makes an inexpensive 12 inch sub. or you can just go bigger like a single 15 or an 18. brand of your choice in your price range. oh! i know elemental designs makes an 18 for 250ish.
i've personally never heard the Mojos, but there are a lot of people that stand by Fi and also run them in their cars
Well before the mojo I had 2 12" kicker comps. They weren't louder by any means but they sounded much better with music (I love kickers quality). And yeah I hear great things about Fi also. I think I might just get 1 12" or 15" Fi. It won't be for a couple weeks though so if anyone has any more advice or input please let me know what you think
thats odd because i hate the sound of kickers...i've had the comps and the cvrs, i loved them at the time, but after i went with other companies, i felt that other subs hit notes a lot better imo ...like the alpine type r and the jl 13w7. i do have friends that love kicker tho and they do beat like crazy, dont get me wrong. i just dont like it myself
Oh yeah well i've only had kicker, a pair of kenwoods that I did love but had way underpowered so I couldn't really judge them well, and my first ever pair of subs that were 10" punch p1's that at the time were amazing to me. I had been looking at RE before, which do you think would be best for what i'm looking for though?
