I am getting a full stereo for my 03 Ford Ranger edge 4-door, and need help deciding what sub, box and amp i should go with. I want the best, deepest, and loudest sound possible from a single 12" woofer. Im not saying i want the best sub out there, but i want a good sub with the best box setup. i do not need a shallow mount sub. I listen to mostly rap and rock, more rap. I've mainly been looking at Kicker and bandpass or bass slammer with front port for the box. How is the compVX sub? any suggestions for what i should go with?
Please don't buy a prefab box. Build your own if at all possible and it will be much better. You have a budget for this?
I have a budget. the most i want to spend on a sub is $200 and the most for a box is $100. I would build my own box but i dont really have time now..i just want a good prefab box. there is enough room in the back of my ranger...probably enough for several sub boxes. I am now wondering if i should go with 2 10's instead of 1 12...what would you guys do?
I have a ranger and they have more room than some ppl think. I have 2 15s in mine now. I have a 12 in a box ill sell ya.
building your own box is ALWAYS the best way to go, there are night and day differences between prefab boxes and the ones you build
Probox...also there are a few affordable online based custom enclosure builders who ship...the shipping is what kills though. Most prefab crap is very poorly constructed using the lowest quality glues and a few staples...more for mass production than quality construction.
JL audio W3 in a JL box....I have one W1 12" JL in a JL box in my tahoe...Killer bass from a single 12...In a ranger it should push some air...I ran a 12w3 in a nice JL box....pushed with my Kenwood 9152 class D amp....Hits hard... I am gonna add a second W1 12" and be running two...Should give me what I am looking for.....for sure Willy
