maaaannnn. one of the coils in y 8's is dead! so im down to 7. ive noticed that at looow notes one of my subs moves too much. so i had time and took it out,and..well it wasnt doing anything. so i tested each coil and ..well you know. so i just wired it back up. so now i have 3 subs wired @ 4 ohms each and the 4th is at 2 ohm. i went to bcad and it said i'm at .8 ohms now. it plays a lil louder now cause i now have the 4 playing instead of one just going along for a ride as a passive radiator. i know its getting more power than the others but my math sucks soo azn or ranger. can you figure it out for me? power wise i know its belting it out. i did a test once and got 43volts at 50hz with 13.2v. whats that at 1 ohm? ballpark?
If the impedance is half of what the others are...than the lone sub is getting twice the power as the others.
so then that coil is getting around 200 then? cause i know im getting a good 800 at 1 ohm with 13.9~14.2v
ha ha i just sent you a PM. it was down when you heard it. its way louder now. my guess is around 1 1/2 dbs or so. i might be able to eek out a 139.
