Hey well let me say I am currently deployed on Kuwait. I have just purchased The Pioneer AVIC-F900BT head unit. I plan on getting all the speakers replaced and putting 2 10" subs in also when I am home on leave.

I realy wanna stick with all Pioneer gear. Is this a good decision or not? Im not realy on to much of a budget but definetly wanna keep it under $500 for for all 4 speakers, 2 subs and an amp. Please give the suggestions?

a lot of people talk about pioneer's speakers/subs, well those lot of ppl dont know much about car audio cuz i think there's a lot better brands out there that sound way better..for good inside speakers that dont break the bank, i like infinity, polk audio, and phoenix gold. for the sub and amp...what are you looking for in the sub?

i did read a good review on a set of pioneer comps but they were pretty pricy for a set of 6.5's.

if your set on pioneer gear then go for it. hit up ebay for some deals. my wal mart sells a set of pioneer comps for 130 and they didnt sound half bad with some tweaking, but that can be said for most speakers. so you may be able to find em there for 90 or less.

when your back home try and go around and listen to some other brands if at all possible. everyone hears sounds differently so bring a cd you like and go listen.

I am a super Newb to this stuff but it has always interested me. If pioneer is sold at Wal-Mart doesnt that kind of make it lower end gear? I am definetly not on to tight of budget. I just want quality in the upper mid range that sounds awsome playing anything for steelydan to metallica and good thumping hip hop. I have never heard of phoenix gold or elemental designs. Pretty lagit stuff? Like suggested I do need to listen to some brands before buying. I was just hopeing to have all the stuff at home waiting for instal when I came home on leave.

#1 YES Elemental designs is great stuff! i am using those same subs, just the 12" version off 300RMS for the pair and they hit pretty good. one of the best in town i have been told. if you go with 450RMS each they will hit and sound good doin it. Those pheonix gold RSD's are a great budget component

#2 You will make them sound better but you dont have to.

Man you guys are super helpfull. I ended up buying the Pioneer TS-D720C for componants.

Another question! If I buy 2 10" that are each 4 oms, do I need to purchase a 4 channel amp to push them properly?

a lot of us here have elemental designs subs and we are very happy with them. you may want to have a look at them. if you check out the ICIX forum a lot of guys there are selling eD subs for pretty cheap and they are all honest guys there so just take a look.

sorry none of your links work.

the ohm load on an amp is determined by the speaker/s used. no switches.

2, 4 ohm speakers wired in parallel will give you a 2 ohm load.

1 4 ohm speaker will show the amp 4 ohms not 2 ohms.

also i think you can get that sub in either a D2 or D4 ohm coil. unless the amp you choose can run 2 ohm mono get the D4, if not then get the D2 ohm so it can be wired into a 4 ohm mono load.

unless his amp can do one ohm. Then get D2

The amp I wanna use is the one power acoustics AB class amp in the link on the prior page. Its a two channel amp. its says 4 and 2 ohms. thats my problem im haveing the hardest time figureing out how those amp and sub match up i dont get the whole bridgeing to make 2 ohms. cant the amp just put out a 2 ohm load off each channel so i can buy 2 10"s at 2 ohms and call it a day?
