I have a design for a wall in my ranger. Its for my 2 cerwin vega vmax 15s. It is about 7.1 cubic ft tuned to about 40.6 Hz. Heres a pic. Tell me if i need to do something different. The height is 28" since its hard to read.

thats fine...but I would rather have a more round/square port than a long skinny one.

but those were dedicated "walls". but i have more of people putting the port on the drivers side even in hatch boxes and trucks.

pedro quiroga is right, for SPL purposes the port should be on the driver side. If SPL is not the primary purpose then the port can be placed any where.

What im tryin to do is build a wall that is loud for daily driving and i plan on doing a little spl with and i wanted it to give me more room in the ranger thats why i wanted a wall.

If you plan on competing with this wall i think you would be better off with just an enclosure below the window line.

keep it below the window line or you might be thrown into a wall class anyways.

i think ive heard. below window line or 24 inches

If I do it below the window line, the box won't be enough cubic ft.

check out the rules with a judge so you know what class you'll be competing in.

Im gona start on my wall saturday. The final outside dimensions are going to be: 51.5"Lx28"Wx12.75"D with a port 4x26.5 tuned to 40Hz. I will not be using this wall for spl only, i want it becasue i wanted something loud, needed more room and i may do a few competitions. Does it matter where the subs are on the face? Do they need to be in the middle, the top, or the bottom to be the loudest?

I think they can be anywhere on the face, it won't change anything if you put them up top or towards the bottom. I would just go with what looks best for you

Ok thanks cccullen. Ill take plenty of pics as i progress with the building. Im still thinking of what to do as far as the outside. Whether paint it, carpet it or wat. Do yall have any ideas?

the subs can go where ever you have room for them. the port on the other hand.... ive seen drivers side AND...top of the box in the middle.

I've always been anal about what to cover my boxes or wall in your case. I would say what ever matches your interior the most.

Carpet is easier to deal with and it hides defects well.

I'm not too much of a fan of painting myself unless it's a very shiny finish.

Vinyl is nice to use and there are a lot of colors to choose from so matching it with the interior won't be that much of a problem.

It's all up to you though. I used vinyl and fabric for mine but I'm going another route once I make my new box. I'll probably use vinyl and carpet for my next design.
