you absolutely need to bolt the box down. since you have a truck you know what can happen to unsecure cargo.

if you ever really slam the brakes or god forbid hit something that box will come at you like a charging rino.

    from the mythbusters fan site

"In US, 2001, approximately 13,000 people were injured by unrestrained objects in the back of their vehicles. Additionally, the Mythbuster'í researches found two cases in Australia where drivers were impaled through their seats by golf umbrellas and another case in the US where a woman was killed by the groceries in her back seat."

ok first of all did you figure out the cuts for the port by measuring down the center of the port or one of the edges? Also i'm thinkin we should add some bracing in between the two biggest horizontal baffles (based on how the box is oriented in your truck.) just cut a 2x4 to length and screw it in somewhere around the middle. oh and was it worth it?

It was definitely worth it. Its really loud. I built the box, then measured in 4" from the inside ege of the box.

so that actual pieces of wood make up the port length that i told you? if so then that box is tuned lower a hz or two so it should be about 33hz which is fine. now it may not hit some of the highs as well but now it hits lower.

Yea the port is 4inches wide, 16.5inches deep and 18 inches long. It does drop lows and hits some highs.

O yea its way louder than my other system and i had 600 watts to each speaker and now i only have 300 watts to each speaker for now. He liked my setup. I guess we will see monday what they hit. What do you think they will hit with the 600d? 130ish?

depends on if you do music or burp a tone and at what tone. pedro had a kicker l5 10" solobaric and he hit 139db off 400rms in a competition. im sure you'll be into the low 140s on the right tone for your trucks cabin. did you test for leaks all around your box? especially around the subs.

Yep everything is sealed. Should i put a 45 in the corner of the port to make the air flow better thru the port?
