i've got a pioneer deh 1800 head unit; pyramid pb1617x 4 channel amp; infinity kappa 62.9i speakers mounted in the doors, and some old kenwood 1686 3 ways in the rear. my question being... is there any special way to wire the speakers to get optimum sound, and to not melt or blowup anything? i'm using 4 gauge power wire and 8 gauge ground.
unless your wiring multiple speakers to one channel then no. wire them up normally for a 4 ohm load to each channel. maybe use a 4 gauge for the ground also.
well then yes the kappas will get more power going to them because of them being 2 ohm speakers. a lil more power up front is fine. the rears should be for fill.
