I have 2 quotes for a Hertz Speaker and Audison amp setup with install. The first is 8 speaker High Energy setup. HSK165 components in the front door, HCX570 coax in the rear door, HCX690 3 way coax in the rear deck and an Audison SRX 4.1 amp. With dynamat, new speaker wire and install, the total is $2475 - $1600 for the speakers and amp,$425 is labor and the rest is dynamat and wiring. The second is 8 speaker Energy setup. ESK570 comps in the front door, ECX570 coax in the rear door, ECX690 3 way coax in the rear deck and a Hertz EP4 amp. Again, with dynamat, new speaker wire and install, the total is $1975 - $1100 for the speakers and amp, $425 again for labor and the rest dynamat and wiring. So after all that, I guess my question is - Are they really worth it? I have a Ford Fusion with the Audiophile system and SYNC, and I have to keep my stock HU to keep my SYNC system. So am I going to see a noticeable difference between the Energy and High Energy setup? Or because I have to keep the stock HU should I just go to a local shop here and get a $1000 Rockford Fosgate Punch setup because I won't see much of an SQ difference? Sorry for the dissertation, I'm just really up in the air about spending that much on speakers, and want some input from others....
I do, and looking at them it seems a little pricey to me too... Just not anyplace to price compare them too around. But this is the breakdown for the High Energy setup HSK165 - $399.99 HCX570 - $249.99 HCX690 - $349.99 SRX 4.1 - $599.99 For the Energy series its ESK570 - $299.99 ECX570 - $179.99 ECX690 - $219.99 EP4 - $399.99 Then the labor, wiring and dynamat are as follows - 4 G wiring Kit $99.99 Dynamat $309.99 Speaker Wire $40.00 Labor $425.00
Where are you from? Have you ever tried DIY? that labor seems very pricey and those speakers are overpriced in my opinion. Have looked at brands like DLS or Focal?
I would recommend that you try to install it yourself so you can save a lot. NOt that hard to do. Are you totally sold on HERTZ?
high end jonny. italian if i,m not mistaken. CC is right. you dont need high end brands for great sound sound. POLK makes a nice 2 way for instance. MOMO and the DB series. i also read some reviews on a set of REALM LS6c's that did well. Rainbow has a new 2 way out as well that are said to be under $300. the SLC 265.25 NG. Focal from what i hear are also very nice. Oh and one more you may wish to look at is Elemental Designs. they have a 2 way comp set that they rave about on their forum.(customers love em). oh one more that i also have, infinity. i personally have polk and infinity in my vehicle. total i have around 300 in speakers and 350(elemental) in my 5ch amp and 150 in subs. (orion 12's)
http://woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=4282 alot cheaper for the amp...
Believe me, I've looked around at a lot of stuff, and the Hertz has stuck with me since I first heard it. The SQ is unbelievable. And spending that much on speakers, I'm not that concerned about the $425 for the install. Besides, they only offer you the 3 year warranty if its installed by their authorized shops. Unfortunately, Hertz doesn't warranty any of their stuff that isn't sold through an Authorized dealer, and all of their authorized dealers are installers, none of which are online.... They distinctly warn on their site about buying stuff online, and that they will in no way warranty it. I've saved up the money for this setup for awhile, and I'm going to get this done right.... Thanks for the link though.
Do the first setup but don't buy 3 pair of speakers, keep the front components and use only one pair in the back, use the money for a sub or a LRx amp, we sale Hertz and Audison and that stuff sounds really really good, I have a set of Milli's in the front and when I let people listen to just those speakers they don't believe that's the only thing playing!!
I actually said the heck with it and went ahead with the full High Energy setup. I decided to go with an Srx5.1 amp instead of the 4.1 so I can easily add a 10" sub in once I pay this off. I know the rear door coax's were unnecessary, but I'm kind of OCD about having speakers where the originals were. The SQ is AMAZING. I can't even get the volume all the way up without causing myself some serious pain. The ultimate endorsement for me was when I let my wife take it for a ride, and she pulled up in front of the house, blaring some GnR, and I could hear it perfectly on my front porch without distortion, and she didn't have any of the windows open. Usually if its that loud, you'll get a lot of distortion. It was a lot of money, and I'm going to spend more to put the amp in, but I consider it an investment in sound quality that I'll enjoy for years to come. If you guys are interested, the dealer put my car and install details up on his website. Click here to check it out.
Welcome !! Nice setup! When you add the sub and amp that thing will be insane. Looks like high quality stuff to me. Audison / Hertz
Thanks. And you're right, that is an LRx. I can't imagine how that must sound, because this SRx has insane amounts of punch and clarity. Like I said, at 75% volume its completely, unreasonably loud. Maybe one day when I hit the lotto I can go all out and get the Thesis.... Of course, it costs almost as much as my car did, but that won't matter if I'm a millionaire....lol.
I had a listen to the Hertz speaker line today... along with the Audison and Hertz amps. I also listened to Rodny's Milli's in his vehicle with a CSS 10" ported sub... factory radio with Arc amp and 3sixty2... it sounded incredibly good. I have to admit... I have not heard too many car systems that sound that good. I was impressed. Now I gotta do something to get back in the swing of things. You would think 47 years old I would grow out of it.
