hello i just installed a new amp sounds fine but when car is running every time a/c compressor kicks is the amp shuts off for half a second the second amp for base stays on with no problem iam thinking ground but not sure
good question all i know is that it didnt do it with old amp and it only does it when the a/c is on at low volume
sounds like a voltage problem to me. what size wires are you using, what kind of car do you have and what amps are you using?
cut the power to the bass amp and see if it still does the same thing. if not then it may be a voltage issue.
they are power acustic 2 ch 400 watt and i one 600 watt for bass oh i forgot to say it also does when i turn on the lights the problem is only with the 400 watt amp does not do it with other amp
OK i just check out the battery with a/c and lights on it goes down to 10 volts more or less could that be it?
no, upgrade your wires to at least 4 gauge wires and upgrade as well to the big 3. Make sure that you aren't running your power wire and RCA next to each other. Power wire and RCA's should be run on separate sides.
Sounds like your alt is bad. What is the voltage without the a/c and lights on. If your running a late model car with a electric fuel pump the pump will shut off at like 9 volts, like Pedro said thats dangerous. Take your battery in to a auto parts store and have them load test it, if it passes its probably your alt. You should be hitting about 13.8 to 14.2 at the battery with the car running.
alt is ok bat was low its a 3 yr old bat so i got a new one works better now but every now and then the amp will shut down for half a sec
