Just went for an hour or so drive, pumping the whole way lol i love it. It's really pumping and sounds nice now with the pioneer. What a difference from jensen haha, i got to used to how nice pioneer sounds and took it for granted. Looks like i need a 2 channel amp for my front 6x9's and tweeters in the doors now. They need a boost to keep up with the back. The 6x9's are infinity reference 100 watts rms each. Also i noticed my batteries getting low on the way home so going to do a run of 1/0 gauge to the back to replace the 4 gauge i have now connecting the batteries.

I'm glad to hear you're happy with your set up now. How do those infinity speakers do for mid bass? i heard they lack in that department.

    electro...
did you know your stroker was discontinued? a shop down the street became a CV dealer and was trying to get strokers but were informed that those were discontinued and new ones were coming out in a 3 months... a silverado is getting 4 of them.

The Infinitys give an excellent bass and mid bass but only when mounted properly. I installed mine backwards because i have seperate tweeters in the doors and the 6x9s fit perfect that way over the 5x7 hole in the door. So i'm using my door for a box, it works nice lol.

I didn't know the strokers are discontinued, i better stock up on some cone replacements lol.

So my pioneer hu as soon as i switch to cd i hear the low thumping noise, it doesn't do it when i switch to radio and i just remembered i have a 20 gig ipod sooo..haha had to look at the manual again on how to turn on the aux on my deck, don't know which smuck invented this. You have to turn off the deck by holding source button then push in and hold the volume button until the clock setting appears then you can go through the menu to get to the aux...
Got my ipod working again, took about 2 hours to do that but i took 248 mp3 songs and converted them to wave so this is best quality possible from an mp3. It ended up being 40mb-50mb each song totaling about 11.4 gigs. Threw them on the ipod hooked it up to my deck and boom!! Problem solved lol no extra thumping or noises. I think maybe the laser might be screwed up for the cd but i don't care anymore wohoooo!!

What is it? Looks cool. This stupid thumping noise came back and it's playing through the aux now too grrrrr. It almost sounds like there's a microphone in there and it gets banged and shaken every once and a while. What the hell lol. Also i get a huge thump when i start my car now through the amp and sub.

they arent discontinued... your model was... did the jensen make that noise? it could be the amp... we had an amp in my other brothers car start making that noise and then it stopped working.

I hope it's not the amp for electro's sake. He hasn't had much luck with amps or subs for that matter.

electro, just wondering how you adjusted your gain? did you use a DMM?

its an ipod interface for pioneers. does yours have an ip bus plug?

Yes, i'm using the ip bus now for my ipod. That's pretty nice i may get one if i get another pioneer, i'm kinda leaning towards alpine now though, i want to hear the difference.

When it first started i changed amps, subs then the rca cable then the deck and it didn't go away until i changed decks. The only thing left i can think of is maybe the ground is too thin. Going to run an 8 gauge wire from the deck outside the car to my battery negative just to see what the hell lol. If it's not that then the deck must be toasted.

I just set the gain by ear, i'm very careful with that adjustment now lol, back it off a bit too.

my last pioneer started making noise out of all the rca's.not just the sub out.

hey have you moved the plugs to another set? try the front or rear outs.

I fixed it wohoooooo, i had a 4 gauge wire with the connector already done so i used that to redo the ground, still no change then i touched that ground wire to the decks chassis and guess what lol. Fixed. So i grounded the chassis too and no more noises. Don't know why it decided to do this now, it's had no chassis ground since i bought it about 3 years ago.

My system is frigin insane now lol, i got the lights dimming pretty good with this one song wow lol, then i smelled another puff of coil but i was getting greedy. This amp takes some serious power but i haven't blown the 100 amp fuse yet, do you believe the lights dimming with all that 1/0 gauge i put lol, only when i'm pushing it though.

great news man. now throw one of your spare amps to the front speakers and your set.

unless they were all mono amps.

Yes!! Good news finally lol. Ya i should take it easy on the sub, i just wanted to see the full wrath lol, now i know what i'm dealing with. I'm very happy with this setup. Kind of like the sound of this small prefab ported box i'm using now, all the bass notes are even and it's more about power now. My highs in the front are loud enough too after setting up my eqs and stuff. Maybe i'll just amp the 6x9s 100 watts each for bass and leave the tweeters in the door powered from the deck.
