Hello, i have just bought a pair of ORION HCCA 15" 4ohm DVC, but now i need to find the appropriate amplifier for them i will have them for daily use but i want them to sound loud, i already have a MASSIVE P3000.1 that was powering my old pair of kicker s15l7, but it gives its max output at 2ohm and the orions are dual 4ohm so will give 2ohm per sub coils in pararel or 1 ohm the pair of subs all coils in pararel, so this amp works fine with one orion sub only now the question is what would be better, buy another massive p3000.1 and have one of them for each sub or sell the massive and get other amplifier or amplifiers, i was looking at the orion hcca 5000.1 but it seems to be rated just 2500 rms at 1 ohm, the massive says 2600rms at 2ohms.

Also i what kind of box should i build, i plan to install it in a 2006 4runner, i think i have some room

hope you can help me with this i know there are many of you that like orion so maybe i can get some help

    Thanks

I always like the Earthquake PHD 5000 for the big subs. What is your budget??

    I think the Earthquake isn't 1ohm stable.

Sundown SAZ-3000D, if you have the budget for it.

Earthquake 3000 watts at 2 ohm and 5000 watts at 1 ohm.

oh, didn't know that. I thought it was 5000 watts peak power.. my bad.

Thanks guys for receiving me, i am an old but new user i have joined in 2002 but i think after the rebuild of the website i lost my posts count,

Well here in my country Venezuela, the main problem is that there arent many brands to choose from, like in your country, but, we can get some named brands, some goods, and some not, here we can get easier ,rockford, kicker, lanzar, boss, now orion, massive, and some others , but in some cases i can buy from ebay and bring them here.

Anyway, the budget may not be a problem , i got some money selling my old equipment, and can afford to buy a good amp, of course not extremely expensive, i dont have an exact amount in mind, as i said i was thinking in the orion hcca 5000 but it says to be just 2500rms, is this amp very underrated or its really 2500rms? the other near option is to get another massive 3000.1 and hook 1 to each sub?, what do you think guys about massive?, other options is to go with other amps that if i can find them in the local market would be easy, if dont i have to gert them from ebay in usa.

I did not see a link but if you go to EarthquakeSound and look at the PH5000 amp it states power at 1ohm is 5000 watts, 3000 at 2 ohms. No big anyway it seems its not available where he lives.

Rockford Fosgate Power T40001BD are some real good amps that's 4,000 watts at 1ohm. EXPENSIVE but worth it if you have the money (i don't).

Personally i don't know much about massive.

These massives are two 1500.1 linked in the same case, i think two of them will pull a lot of power i will need some updates in my electrical systemn i already have a batcap 2000, i have heard many people dont like the earthquake , sont know why, but if its really 1 ohm stable and is quite efficient, could be a good deal.

ok, cool, my bad, that's good to know. Wonder why the other site didn't list it in their specs. It must be though. But his subs are 1500 watts rms a piece so the amp will have to be about 3000 watts @ 1 ohm.

hola!! well you can order the sundown 3000 or maybe a Incriminator Audio 40.1...or you can also get a lanzar opti 4000, rockford 3k...it all depends on the cash you have to spend

Dont the HCCA subs handle more power than that?? I was always under the impression that they could handle like 4000 watts or so. But I guess im wrong. Maybe im thinking of the CV Stroker.

in the box they say 2000rms 4000peak, but according to the info that electrolytic posted seems they can handle some high peaks

Electro probably got the info from their website. It states that the subs are rated at 1500 watts rms, but it also states that is underated. I remember back in the day before DEI bought the company, man those HCCAS could handle monster power..
