I got a couple of questions: First, there's a guy i helped out and he got 2 12" L7's and bought the Hifonics BXi1606D amp. anyway, he hooked it all up and supposedly isn't getting sound. He hooked up his LOC properly, did the power, and ground wires properly. His amp is getting power but he saying no sound coming out.

I asked what his gain was set at and he said 1/4. To me, there should have been sound coming out. everything else was set at the lowest setting so I just want ask what the other settings on the amp would do. it's got: sub sonic (15hz-50hz): Bass Eq (0db-18db):Low pass (35hz-250hz): phase (0-180degrees): level (9v-.02v)

I do know what some of it does but if you could explain it to me a bit that would be great.

when powered up is the light on the amp green or red (in protect), also check the speaker wire inside the box. It just happened to me the other day, I put the box in the car but no sound. Once I pulled the woofer out one of the wires had come loose from the box terminal. Check all the simple stuff first, is the speaker wire connected to the box, just stupid stuff like that, youd be suprised how many dumb things we do when we get excited about our new system and were in a hurry to listen to it.

I just went out to the garage and looked at the Titan amp in my Sable and its almost all the way up. Just over 3/4. It plays fine, never heats up so turn up the gain and see what happens.

How do you test the input voltage from the rca's?

you may need a digital tester for that. I'm really not sure though. What is your gain set at now?

the LOC has volume to it? He's sure that the correct speaker wires were connected to it. Do you think the LOC may be defective?

Line output converter. It's used when you want to connect an amp using the stock stereo

Well the good news is he got it to work... I don't know how he did it but i'll find out. You may have been right Pedro. I never knew there was a volume control on the LOC. I've never used one so that's probably why. I'll find out exactly what mkb116 did. He sounded happy though. Must be pounding now. 2 L7's at 1600 watts that's gotta be sick!

If it's not the RCA's then check the head unit. Some head units come with functions that gotta be cut on, for example check subwoofer is turned on in head unit.

well, I'm starting on it as soon as I finish my wife's fiberglass box which will be this weekend. Kinda got busy so I haven't been able to work on her box much since i first started it.

It's a OEM mustang head unit so it doesn't have subwoofer controls on it. I think he just reconnected the RCA's on it and it finally worked. Anyway, it's all ok now.
