As stated in earlier post, I am looking at an inexpensive upgrade for my new Toyota Tundra. The following amps are all 4 channel and range from roughly $85.00 to 120.00. I listen mostly to 70's and 80's classic, progressive and hard rock along with progressive jazz. I want an amp that does more than just give me thump. I want crisp, clear sound with some power behind it. Please give me your honest opinions. Thanks.

thats a tough one.if you have the factory head then the PA and the kicker have
    speaker ins.

if its an after market then it would be a toss up(for me)between the PG(i have PG amps. and these models tested well)the LPL is a nice option

the kicker(easy had them and they were uder rated in power.so it would have good head room)

or the hifonics. it has a sub vol knob that comes with it.(i'm also partial to these amps).

it would come down to price after that.

    its a tough desision

Id go with Hifonics, Kicker, or Phoenix Gold.

Well, if they're all fairly equal in quality and being I don't need extra bells and whistles, I'll go for the lowest price, even though they are all pretty cheap. Like I said, I just want to improve the factory sound. Since the vehicle is a lease, I can't see spending a lot for sound. Thanks for the replies..

check out my install thread.the amp cost me 89.105 shipped.

and the amp kit was from best buy for 25.dynex thier brand.10 gauge with every thing needed.

line converter was 18 at wal mart.although i would have liked to use a pac 2 i saw at crutchfield for 30 with a remote out.

sub was used for 50.and i gave my friend the eq.

i only charged him 100 for the equipment.all else was at no charge.

    i'm a giver.thats how i roll

i've had good experience with the 8 and 4 gauge scosche amp kits from wal-mart. I believe the wire is actually 5 gauge but hey it comes with with plenty of wire including 8 gauge(actually 9gauge), distribution block and a 100amp fuse. oh and of course remote wire and terminals out the ying yang
