    New update:

As you know, I have 5.25" components in the factory speaker locations in the front doors and the tweeters in the woodgrain...

Well, a guy on the lowrider forum I go on makes kick panels, and he said he'd make me a pair for $150 with the factory textured look. I'm thinking I should put the 5.25's in the kicks, put some 6.5" midbass drivers in the factory speaker locations in the doors, and keep the tweeters in the woodgrain (and remove the 5x7's from the rear deck).

Eazy, will 6.5's fit in the factory speaker locations? you could put 6.5's in for your kick panels and leave 5.25's where they are.

I was told the 6.5" midbasses would be better in the doors, plus there isn't much room for kicks so I want to use as little space as possible. The stock speaker holes in the doors are 6x8", so with an MDF adapter and possibly a little cutting, a 6.5" should fit.

I got some RF 8 gauge for sub wire. No one had 10 gauge, 25 ft. of JL 12 gauge was $35 plus tax, and I'm not feeling the 12 gauge audiopipe wire I have now. I plan on carpeting the box tonight and possibly hooking up the sub.

Just gotta drop the sub in tomorrow. I'm putting the "Fi" logo at a 45 degree angle.

If you get those 6.5's in your doors let me know. My expy has the same size door speakers (6x8) as your car. I was told that 6.5's wouldn't fit. I really want to put 6.5's in my doors cuz i'm just not happy with 5.25's that i have in there now. They're too small and it puts out barely any mid bass at all.

I had to put another coat of spray paint in my port... how long before you think I can put the sub in?

when the paint dries i guess just incase the sub blows dust in the port

Spray paint dries very fast so you should be able the sub in after an hour or so. As long as you put a thin coat in your port.

I'd put the sub in and play some heavy bass song...that should dry up the spray paint real quick

Well it started pouring so I couldn't work on it anyway. I need to fix my speakers though, I realized tonight that when I fade the sound to the right side on my headunit, the left side plays lol. Apparently I got the rights and lefts mixed up. That, and the right 5.25 wasn't as loud as the left, which was weird. I need to check all that wiring before I put the sub in.

That shouldn't take any time at all to fix. That should be very easy for you. As for the right not being as loud as the left, you may have the right out of phase. Just flip the wires around and see what happens.

Well I fixed the right and left problem, but my channel #2 on my SAX-100.4 isn't working... it's putting out barely any power at all and the little sound I do get from it is really distorted. I tried switching RCA's, checking the RCA's connections behind my headunit, switching speakers, switching polarity, unhooking the SAE-1000D... nothing worked.

That sucks... Sounds like there's a problem with your amp. So when you hooked up the other speakers to that channel the same thing happened? If so, then it has to be your amp IMO.

Yeah I unhooked the 5.25's and put the 5x7's on channels 1 and 2 (front) and the left side (1) was much louder than the right side (2). I took the amp out, took the 5x7's out of the rear deck, took the 5.25's out of the doors, and put the 5x7's in the doors. So basically, I've got 2 speakers, the 5x7's in the front running off the headunit for now. I figure if I'm going to get kick panels the 5.25's are going to have to come out sooner or later. I also put the sub in the box and was about to hook it up when a storm came through and there were tornado warnings, so that'll have to wait until tomorrow.
