i recently purchased a xxx reaudio 18" sub. i am looking at buying an orion hcca-5000d amp to push it. can anyone tell me if they think that amp is sufficient enough to push that speaker, and will (or what) kind/size cap will i be needing? any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Sweet setup, i'm extremely jealous LOL, well a little jealous. The sub is 2000 watts rms so i guess it depends if your going to run at 1 ohm or 2 ohms. If you run @ 2 ohms the sub will be fine but if you run @ 1 ohm, your over by an underated 500 watts, and i don't think that sub will like you anymore lol.

thanks for the help guys. my electrical system is far from "up to par". my car is a '07 ford fusion and currently has stock everything. what upgrades would you suggest to make the sub more compatible? i believe that i am also going to be purchasing some dynaudio components to accent everything else i'm trying to do. i just don't know where to start with wiring or if i need capacitors or any of this. any help would be greatly appreciated.

well if you plan on 2000+watts for bass.that will totally drown out the mids/highs.

i saw this and am considering it if something were to happen to my amp/s.
