OK the TV tuner is finally in my truck. It has two AV inputs. AV1 is my DVD player, but what to do with AV2? I had a kool idea so I ran a Left and Right audio and a video line into the passenger door. What I need is something like a game port (no AC plug) with a Left, Right and Video RCA so that a portable DVD player can simply be plugged in. It needs to be flush mountable and resessed if possible. If anyone sees something that looks like it might work please post a link
Damn Ranger...I like that I wish I had a whole week off to just finish everything I want to do to finish my system...now I have more panels vibrating and rattling than before...thank YOU lol
or....dont they make a plug so your i pod will have vid out? eBay: Monster Cable iTV link ipod and video Cable New Fast (item 130134949642 end time Jul-23-07 09:30:00 PDT) thats of course if you had an ipod video.
Ipod video, what a good idea, but I still need a game port. Without the switch or the AC plug in, I am NOT gonna put an inverter in my truck.
eBay: ~NEW~ Auto Video Game Port / Plate / Switch 6" DME-GP01 (item 190125462603 end time Jul-21-07 23:02:59 PDT) find this else where unless you wish to buy it here.i think this is what you want
hey ranger, what do you mean like a game port, like this? I'm not familiar with the xbox or ps2. VGA to Component Video Cables and transcoders Custom made HD15 to 3 - RCA or 3 - BNC cables, belden 1277R Mini Hi-res coax cable
Thats OK. I probably dont know the proper name for the part Thats it, Ive gotta get one And thanks for the Ipod video Idea. Its got me thinking that I really need a video Ipod instead of a DVD player.
I just wanna add one more thing, I do NOT have the video system on when I'm driving. I actually installed a safety device that makes watching and driving impossible (unless I remove it and that WON'T happen). Its a simple analog device that hooks to the vehicle speed sensor, and anytime it detects pulses from the VSS it shuts off power to both monitors. Now I can still hear the news or hear the Movie, but I cannot watch unless the vehicle is not moving and the emergency brake is set.
oh i figured that.i remember some of your responces to some peolple trying to figure out how to watch while driveing.
so how many screens are there in your truck? you'll also have to have an adaptor plug for the ipod to output its vid to the plug.that like another 5.00 or so from ebay. you can get fancy and make a docking station for it.so it has its proper place.
I currently have only 2. I keep thinking about adding one more just never got around to it. I have a video amp behind the glove box. I can run up to 5 screens. The Video Ipod is a really good Idea, I might actually consider replacing the DVD player. Put the ashtray back in and make a custom mount (dock) for the Ipod in the ash tray. I have to pay for this semester first, because I don't own a Video Ipod and that would be the bulk of the investment. I wanna do it because no one else around here has even had the idea. I just found the ash tray. It was in the utility room.
