well the voltage that you should be near is 24.5 volts for 300 watts and 28.3 volts for 400 watts.

But as Ranger said...it really could be really low...depends on the situation.

On my friends Memphis 1000D it recently f'd up and still pushed out i'm guessing around 500 watts but it only reads like 5 volts at the speaker terminals

Wtf no one told me to turn on my car lol. I've been doing it with the engine off because my grand marquis has straight pipes and it's really loud near the trunk of the car so I didn't want it to interfere with me tuning the bass. I was getting 20.0 volts with the engine off.

lol yeah....keep the engine on. less strain on your battery and better for your amps

Alright I guess I'll re-tune it for like the third time with the engine on and aim for 28.3 volts lol...

Hey have you guys seen this new Maxx-Link? They sound sick and I heard they're really going to sell for like 60 bucks... I wanna pick one up.

nothing special..basically a line driver but for sub amps.

you can do the same thing for less...get a simple signal booster/line driver and daisy chain the rcas. same signal to each amp...that is just a pos

So you could take 5 completely different amps, do what you said, and combine the output of all 5 amps to 1 sub for example or make the 5 amps put equal amounts of wattage to 2 subs?

No...an amp is an amp. It can only handle such a load and put out X amount of power.

With this POS you cannot use 5 different amps and combine there output to power one sub. Impossible.

All it does is boost the signal, play tones, and controls 5 amplifiers with one input signal

I thought it strapped amps... what is the definition of strapping amps?

basically taking two amps and wiring them together to have one single output.

you have to have amps that are capable of being strapped or else you will fry your equipment fast.

say you have two Nine.1 amps. Each puts out around 1200-1500 watts rms at 1 ohm.

to make setting up the gains and what not on the amps easier you can strap them together at a final 2 ohm load having one master amp and one slave amp. Now you don't have to gain match them. Whatever you do on the master amp the slave amp does the same...and now you have around 2400-3000 watts rms output at 2 ohms.

Okay... I was told this thing would allow me to do that with kicker ZX amps?

would it still be able to run at 1Ohm?

yeah you could...if you know what you are doing and if you have a stout electrical system.

There are people that have burped the Nine.1 at .25 ohms before without it shutting off or failing. Just gotta know what you're doing. Yeah wiring that low will void the warranty but the Nine.1 is known to handle pretty low impedances

"Now multiple amps (five mono-blocks or less) can be linked together to create one huge subwoofer amplifier output channel"

i dont know azn the way the make it sound it turns up to 5 amps into 1 amp output

I wouldn't add anything else to your system eazy, you have enough on your hands already and i don't see a need for anything else, your already at the max of everything so you will gain nothing by adding more stuff. Keep it simple. Tweek it up, go through all the settings in your deck and amps, it will take a week or so to get it nice.

Well I used the DMM with the engine on this time. I got both amps at 28.3 volts. The gains are set at 50-60% and the bass boosts are at about 50%. I did this at 3/4 volume with the bass set at +6 on the headunit.

By the way, Azn, what formula did you use to get 28.3 volts?
