    get a step drill bit/Unibit.

It makes the hole bigger in small increments

Could I put the crossovers on the amp rack? Or is that too far from the speakers and tweeters?

    Well...

Today I ran the main amp power wire, the 1/0 gauge. I was able to run it through the passenger side firewall on the battery side of the car and was able to run it all the way to the trunk using only 13.5 feet... in a grand marquis! and 3 of those feet are in the trunk! I was pretty proud of myself lol.

I also hooked up the ANL fuse holder under the hood and did one of the big three lol. I need to get some screws and nuts for the battery negative to ground and engine block to ground. I also relocated the siren for the alarm and covered all alarm wires in stock looking black split loom.

It took me like an hour to get through the firewall... I used the passenger side cuz there was a baseball size hole with a huge rubber stopper in it with a handful of wires going through... well it turns out the rubber thing was 1.5" thick and it took a razor blade and a drill an hour to get a chunk out big enough to run the 1/0 gauge.

Alright, I want to install a voltmeter gauge in my car. My car has a digital dashboard that only shows a battery symbol when it's getting low... when the engines on. If the engine is off and the radio is on all the symbols on the dash show up, so I never know when my battery is getting close to death.

    (gauge had in mind)

Now, what do I need to do to wire one of these up?

cool, is that LED? Could probably hook that to the remote wire of your deck so it only comes on when your deck is on, if it doesn't take too much power. That's what i would do lol i may be wrong.

Well I got my SAT scores for the second time I took it... my reading went down 40 points, my math went up 60 points, and my writing stayed exactly the same lol. Basically my best in each category are 640 in reading, 680 in math, and 650 in writing... so a 1320. The scholarship requirement was 1270, so I'm set!

100% tuition and fees (including lab fees up to $300 per semester plus $300 per semester for college related expenses) at any florida public school... for 4 years

all that volt meter has is a power ground and remote wire(most of them though)

Wire it to the rear...you want to know what voltage your amp is seeing...not up front

Ok, so all I have to do is put the gauge in the trunk, run the power wire to the battery, ground another wire on the chassis, then hook up a remote wire?

Oh and where should I hookup the remote, in one of the amps, like how I'm jumping remotes?

Oh and it's a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis LS.

Loomed wirening, fuses, nice and neatly run wiring...it all adds up to a successful plan!

    Good job easy!

    Looks good!

Good one eazy, I bet there is no dimming now! Hey do you have your stereo hooked up to the accessory ignition, so when you turn the key back the stereo goes on, because, those dash lights i don't think go on in accessory, was just wondering. Install looks nice and clean!

It's funny you should ask. I was just talking about that on another site. I don't ever turn the key back (just stereo), because my car dings really loud if the door's open... so I've akways just turned it forward, not starting the engine, but forward, when I'm working on my car with the doors open. They said that's really bad for the car. I had never heard this before.

ya, i've herad that too because it's giving power to your starter solonoid however that's spelled, and fuel pump or whatever else.

Doesn't hurt a thing to have the key on in run. Just uses more juice. Powering up everything instead of just the accessories.

Very true....this stems from a time when ignition systems used points.....if the points were closed when the ignition was on, and the vehicle not running, the points could burn up.
