so i feel pretty proud. just read the wholeeee thing wow my eyes hurt now haha. i must say however that this is the most effective thread to learn off of. im sort of in a similar situation. i have a 99' lincoln town car executive series with 97k mi. and believe it or not a 00' SVT mustang engine... i kid u not. haha. i bought the car of my friend and his gpa put it in there for shiatts and giggles. ANYWAYS i have an autotek mean machine 99 and im still havin a hard time even figuring out what size subs i want. my trunks bigger than yours eazy so im sure i have plenty of options. i don't want to spend much more than 400$ on subs. i plan to build my box as well. of course i need to do the big 3 upgrade as well and get the appropriate fuses. woww i ramble! oh and i have a kenwood kdc-mp7028. it has a 4v preout and my boss is into car audio and he said that high voltage preouts help produce better sound(garbage in equals garbage out). im also lookin to eventually add another battery. so i understand that i need to hear alot of subs to help figure out which ones i want but do you guys have any ideas?

 

higher voltage preouts do not produce better sound than lower voltage preouts. That is a myth.

First off what kind of bass do you want??

 

ic, well i want bass that hits LOW and HARD that doesn't distort. i suppose that may be too much to ask within my price range but im not sure. i listen to mostly rap. alot of young jeezy to like in ur video with the giant box with the huge vent. i may want to build something similar. here in a few me and my buddy are goin to get some 0 gauge wire and some marine terminals to upgrade the big 3 and if possible some ANL fuses. i know its somewhere in the thread but what size fuse do i need for the main 0 gauge going from the battery to the amp? the amp i have will put out close to 800 watts once i get another battery to help sustain a higher voltage. also do i need to fuse any of the other big 3 connections?

 

im not getting another battery right now, i mean for later down the road. i ended up not being able to get the wire tonight anyways. i had to go with my friend to pick up his new dirtbike.

 

Azn your slacking..lol you do need a fuse on the big 3, or maybe not the big 3 but the main power from the battery to the amp should have a fuse within 12 inches of the battery, a 150 anl fuse is good up to 1200 - 1500 watts?
