I'm curious... I think my sub can handle more gain, but how do I know when it's the right gain setting?

Damn, I played some bass mechanics and dj magic mike and my friend said he could feel his ears moving. Then he went inside and I went home. He called me up and said his family could feel the vibrations from my sub and they had to turn the tv up... from 40 yards away.

The edead should be here on Friday...

I took my backseat out and the rear deck off... Circuit city must hire retards. All they had to do was hook up two 6x9's in the rear deck and hookup a cd player. I had a stereo before so everything was already wired up, all they had to do was plug sh!t in. I find out that my biggest vibration problem is actually one of my 6x9's. They only used 3 screws, and the sheet metal is just too thin for them to attach tight enough with just screws. Plus they're hanging from the underside because the hole isn't big enough for a 6x9, which made the loosening worse. Then I look at the other 6x9 and the "MTX" isn't even facing the right direction... fools.

Okay, now for the edead... I'm going to do the whole trunk and trunk lid.

Should I edead the metal on the seatback facing the trunk? Metal facing the seats?

Should I edead the metal rear deck on the trunk side? Should I edead the rear deck on the cabin side?

Should I use double layers anywhere?

    Double layers aren't really needed.

I wouldnt deaden the seat backs...just the WHOLE TRUNK

Take the 6x9's out and dead the rear deck on the cabin side...and SECURE THOSE REAR SPEAKERS!!!

    Sorry I meant ARE NOT!!!

My bad...and if anyone was wondering why I havent been here these past few days.

I was on a group trip to Washington DC for the right to life march (pro-life)...left saturday night and got back this mornin at 5:30.

Pretty awesome city, pretty big, I really liked the building where they print the money...found out that if you have a 10 dollar bill that has a star at the end of the line of numbers instead of a letter...the bill is actually worth $20.25 cents I think

One problem I've been having is that my front door panels rattle a ton. They have a ton of give to them and flex when you grab the handle and rattle just from my exhaust with the radio off. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Oh and I'm going to D.C. too in Feb... not looking forward to the cold though.

mine did the same.i used some thick 1/2 inch weather seal to keep them from banging on each other.

of course thats the quick fix,and i only needed a 1 in piece in the top corner of my passenger door.

make sure all the interior clips are in place.maybe one popped loose.

Hell you could try to fiberglass the inside of them...or use some V4 on the inside of the door panels.

What I'm gonna do is use underbody coating and spray it on the inside of my door panels...hell it can hurt em...maybe help them not resonate and rattle as much

Now that the false floor is in, and the 39 inch box (probably 39.5 with the carpet) is in... now I kind of wish I made a bigger box... perhaps housing more subwoofers lol...

    I need to build something.

Oh yeah, the guys on the lowrider site said I should do 5.25's in some kick panels and put some 6.5 - 7" midbass drivers in the front doors, and ditch the 6x9's and 5x7's, leaving the rear deck holes open for bass...

Well I don't really like the idea of this. Right now my stereo looks stock if you're peaking in the window, and I want it to stay that way, is there somewhere I can relocate the 6x9's to maybe? Or is this whole thing a waste of time?

I currently have a hole in my rear deck where a premium sound sub would have gone...

You are doing a fine job easy!!!!!

As for the sighs you have now, are you satisfied with them or are you looking to upgrade just because everyone is telling you need to on that other site???

Get your system fineshed up with what you have now and enjoy it for a while!!!!! Then over time you will really know what you need to do, whether it is more bass, better highs, more power, etc........dont ru**** too much!!! A little at a time. Spend your money wisely and get a kick ass sytem!!!!
