Well, as I am selling my Lincoln I figured I would take some of the money from that sale and put it into the Ranger. I wanted to get something cost effective while not being very complex. Pretty much I have come up with the following after a long mental debate. Front Speakers. (Dash) http://www.crutchfield.com/S-I8uqM8sbQ1i/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=51200&I=023GTX402 [I know a 4" speaker will for sure fit but I am thinking the stock speakers are 5" speakers not 5.25". So, I am going to take some measurements and see what's going to fit in there. If I can fit the 5.25" in there I will be doing that. If not than the 4" is just going to have to do for now.] Rear Speakers. (Above jump seats) http://www.crutchfield.com/S-I8uqM8sbQ1i/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=52200&I=023GTX572 Headunit. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-I8uqM8sbQ1i/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=280150&I=257KDHDR1 Sub. Just going to use my Kappa Perfect 12.1 from the Lincoln mounted behind the driver seat. So I just wont be able to use one of the rear seats. Soon as I get some extra cash im going to have Willy hook me up with a custom box. Sub Amp. I have a Sony 1600 watt Class D amp for the sub. I know everyone hates Sony but ive had it for years and its just sitting here so I might as well put it back to some use. It wont have a problem pushing that single 12. Hi Amp. Won't be using one at first. Just going off the headunit power to see how it sounds. If I do end up wanting a little more juice to the speakers I am prolly going to buy a small Alpine 4 channel to run them. I think its rated at 40x4 @ 4 ohm don't remember the model number off the top of my head. All in all. It's going to cost me around 300 bucks with a few install accessories at first. Then maybe 100-150 more if I end up adding that 2nd amp. So not bad for a budget system. Its half the cost of my last one.
ive always liked blaupunkt coaxial speakers. Those and pioneer. They have very nice hi's to my ears. The low end seems to struggle with Blaupunkt speakers in my opinion but a sub really makes up for it to make a very nice set up if you are on a budget. Now I have never heard this particular series from them as they just came out with it. But I have a good feeling I wont be disappointed.. but if I am.. since its Crutchfield.. I can always trade them back in for something else.
