My first question- have any of you heard a system with Dynamic Soundstage Organizer? Or is it another hype developed by Sony? On paper, it looks nice. I found this website about it. But anyway, all this stuff is going into a 1994 Altima. I am LUCKY to listen to two songs all the way through on the way to anywhere- so I don't spend alot of time in the car (nor do I travel as a job every day) so I don't need a premium system. I don't want to spend over $200. Here is what I was thinking of getting: Receiver: Sony CDX-GT510 Speakers: Blaupunkt PCxb402 Blaupunkt PCxb652
I have seen this gimmick many times over the years. It is something tht is as simple as as having a slight phase shift in certain frequencies that make the mind "think" it is hearing something else. This has been doen for years...most of the time it is nothing more than a jole, or a fun toy to play with. To be honest, in day to day driving, i fingd that this type of sound can be fun and entertaining. Would i want it for a serious SQ system....NO. Could I live with out it? Yes..... Concentrate on a good sytem, then add on "toys" such as this later if ou feel you need them.
So it does make a difference... That is good to hear. I am pretty chosen about this Sony currently, all the reviews I have seen (few and far between, but nonetheless) are positive. Care to comment about the setup in general? I am not competing nor do I need premium sound. If I want that I can listen to a live event somewhere
Well, again, it is a "toy" In my opinion. it is something you may choose to add on later, but first and foremost, i suggest a quality system in your car. It will not make up for a serious lack of quality in your system. With that said, If it is what i think it is, it will make your soundstage "sound" wider as stated......heck, a mono source can be made to have an artificial "soundtstage" by way of phasing manipulation. But here is the deal, it will not replace a set of well placed speakers, a set of quality components places in the right way in the vehicel will sound better than any artificial sound enhancment, period. i have played with all kinds of these things over the years, including an original eclipse DSP 1000 digital signal processor (which i still have).....NONE of them have ever been something that i like to use all the time...they are a toy and should be used as such....to an untrained ear, they may sound "awesome"...to someone who KNOWS what a soundstage should sound like, they will sound like crap..... If you really feel you need one, i suggest you go to a dealer and listen for yourself, dont buy one cause of the advertising!!!!!
Well its a feature on this receiver I am asking about... I dont know what you mean by "add it on later".
